This is my 4th pregnancy using Progesterone suppositories. All of my doctors have said that it is safe to stop after you reach 12 weeks. I did that with my 3 older kids, and never had any problems.
When I was 12 weeks this time, I had almost a month of suppositories left. I asked my doctor if I could take the rest of them rather than throw away $50 worth of medicine.
She said I could because there was a study that claimed prolonging the progesterone could contribute to the baby's having a higher I.Q.
I finished the bottle I had, then went off of them. Again, I did not have any complications.
I think you are safe either way.
