Hey- since im 6 days over I think I'm ready to give castor oil a try but I was wondering if any of you had tried it. My mom says it will indefinatly give me the s**ts in her own words lol.

You take 2 tablespoons right???

Thanks

Re: Castor Oil

How very daring of you Denise!!! I just had a nice long bath and gave myself a pedicure and now I feel all refreshed, otherwise I would have read your post sooner!
I also was thinking of trying this as my Mom said she did with my brother. She took a couple tablespoons mixed with O.J. and she said the next day she went into labour.
Now though they don't suggest it because it causes the baby to have a bowel movement in utero and they will ingest it causing risks to the baby's health.
I read your post on the April Board as well and think maybe it's a good idea to stick to the one teaspoon!
Good luck girl.... may your little one bless you soon!

Re: Castor Oil

I have heard different things about castor oil. It has worked for some and not for others. Some say it causes the baby to have a bowel movement in the womb. I know it worked for my sil but it did not work for me, although my baby did not have a bowel movement until after birth. I know it did give me some great contractions for about a day and a half. I only had the s"""s twice and it wasnt that bad as some people say it is. the only thing it might've done was make me dialate a little more but hopefully it will work for you since you are overdue. I was 38 weeks when I tried it. Keep us posted and take care!!!! Good luck- maybe the next time we hear from you you will have had a beautiful baby!!!

Re: Castor Oil

well I suppose im gonna end up posting this one here and on april moms but I did try it and I convinced my mom to give me a little more like a tablespoon and then I drank grapefruit juice which will also help you go into labor because of the acids.

well im gonna post the story on april moms about whats going on right now because im in the worse pain of my life, and already got sent home from the hospital.

go check it

Denise
