Fetal movements - your experience

Hello:

I am 17w1d today. This is my first pregnancy but I am already showing because I have never had a flat stomach and my tummy muscles are lax. I can't wait to feel my baby move. Is it too early? Ladies, in your past experience, when did you feel the first movements in the first pregnancy and what did they feel like? Thank you very much.

Re: Fetal movements - your experience

I started to feel my baby move around 18 weeks. I too am fairly thin and once I hit 20 weeks, would feel her move constantly. At first, the movements feel like little flutters.

At first it feels lke gas then you notice that the kid never stops moving. I started to feel my baby move around 18 weeks, like little butterflies in my stomach.

I felt my baby at 16 weeks (1 time) then not again until 20 weeks. To me, those first movements felt like a muscle twitching.

This is my first pregnancy, and I didn't feel anything that I could positively identify as being the baby until my 23rd week.....and I hit 25 weeks tomorrow.

When I was pregnant with my first baby who is now three months old, I first felt him move at 18ish weeks. It felt like lil bubble. It was amazing, I started to feel it more around 22 weeks and I'm overweight. Good luck and it's so amazing to feel that little thing kicking you..even when you are in the 9 month and ready to pop. Okay..sometimes you wish they'd stop but still!! lol.

Re: Fetal movements - your experience

I felt my daughter move once at 15 weeks then not more until around 17-18 weeks. The first time i knew it was her because it was a small kick and air bubbles. she was a very active fetus and im with weepy on that one. She still kicks hard!!

Re: Fetal movements - your experience

hi, first time mom here, and i felt my daughter at around 14.5weeks. i'm normal weight but i guess i'm just very sensitive. it felt like i was holding in gas but in my front lower abdomen, so i knew that wasn't it. i am 21 weeks now and since then those movements have become much more prominent, growing from a "fish flapping" to actual kicks! very cool and very weird at the same time!! good luck with your pregnancy

Re: Fetal movements - your experience

i was wondering if i was the only one who thought my little girl felt like a fish, but i guess not... i first felt her move at 16 weeks... and for several weeks after that it just felt like a fish moving around... but now at 26 weeks, her movements are purely kicks... no wondering what shes doing now thats for sure.
