C-Section Drainage

Had anyone had any issues with drainage from their c-section incision post surgery? How long does it normally last? What is normal drainage like?
I've had it since 6 days post delivery and saw a dr in the ER who put me on antibiotics. It is now 14 days post delivery and there is still some drainage...it dries up a bit and then opens up again and is heavier. The OB who did the surgery left no post care info or even any info regarding who I was to see and when for me when I was discharged...he didn't even come in the day I left.
Thanks!

Re: C-Section Drainage

Good news on many fronts. The drainage stopped late yesterday and is still dry and clean...finally. AND I finally got ahold of the OB's office and I am to see them at 6 weeks although they said normally just see whoever looked after your prenatal care. Because I saw a midwife( and her expertese is not incisions) I should have had follow up care by them and didn't.
I asked about the drainage and the nurse said said some is normal, especially if you have a lot of tummy roll hanging over the incision as it is hard to keep it dry then due to sweat etc. She said if I was on antibiotics and had no other symptoms that it should be fine as long as it dried up soon....otherwise I am to go in to see them sooner.
Thanks for the info Weepy...hope Sammy is doing well.
