Ketones in urine

Hi ladies!

I'm 11wks today...went in for my dr appt & they did the standard pee in a cup procedure. Well before I left the dr told me I had high ketones & that I should go get something to eat. I didn't think much about it at the time, so I didn't ask any questions. Now after looking it up online it doesn't really make sense to me cause everything online says this usually happens if you haven't eaten in a few hours, yet I had just ate 1hour before my dr appt.

Any one have this before?

Re: Ketones in urine

Hi, I had ketones constantly! It is a sure sign of dehydration. You can get dehydrated by drinking too much caffine, and not eating right. Good LUck!!

Re: Ketones in urine

Thanks for your quick response.
I drink tons of water daily & have cut out all caffiene(well i've cut out all sodas & coffee anyway), so this must be d/t my eating habits. I feel yucko most of the time & food just hasn't been settling right in my tummy. I do eat however everytime I feel hungry. Hopefully this doesn't last long!
