i'm constantly worrying about if my baby will be born healthy and normal. i'm sure this is normal but want reassurance. didn't take the quad-screen test and did have a anatomy ultrasound on monday and all looked very normal and healthy. just a worried first time prego or am i being overly concerned?
I worry about that too. But the odds that your baby will be born strong and healthy are overwhelmingly high -- probably more than 95% (depending on your age). Eat healthy, take your vitamins, and just think -- if you had a better than 95% chance of winning the lottary you'd buy lots of tickets, wouldn't you?
I think it's very common. I'm just under 4 months along with my first child and I have been doing the same kind of worrying and everyone around me tells me that it's perfectly normal to be going through that.
It's completely normal. I had a few "soft markers" on an ultrasound I had, I got a quad screening, which came back pos. and i had a 1 in 6 chance of Trisomy 18, so I was sent in for a Level II ultrasound, and after finding more markers, I had a CVS done, and it came back positive for Trisomy 18. I'm only 20 years old. So I mean it's ok to worry, but it's so rare that young mothers have birth defects.
