anyone hear about the heart rate and how it can indicate the sex of the child? supposedly, the higher the rate, like above 160 its a boy. there are SO many "wives tales" we hear and we are curious at to how accurate they are. we just hope and pray the child is healthy, boy or girl!
Old wives' tales like that really aren't all that accurate overall. Especially considering that depending on your source, they can go either way - like this one for example, the more popular version is that a higher heart rate indicates a girl. It's fun to use them to try and guess, but I certainly wouldn't get your hopes up either way based upon what they say.
The heartrates varied w/ both my pregnancies. I had 160's and I had 130's w/ my daughter. My dr. uses this theory quite a bit but ultrasound always suggests otherwise.
This time my 24 week ultrasound said girl but the heart beat is in the 120's so my dr. is convinced it is a boy. My husband is hoping "he's" a late bloomer. I'll never trust ultrasound 100% but it's more accurate than going by the heart rate.
