Ginger Tea while pregnant?

Is it ok to drink Green Ginger tea while being pregnant if its in tea-bag form already? I bought some today because I read that ginger tea can help with nasuea, but before I drink it I wanna make sure if this is going to be ok? Or should I buy fresh ginger or crystalized ginger instead?
Thank you!

Re: Ginger Tea while pregnant?

My dr recommended ginger tea when I was having problems w/ morning sickness and didn't mention anything about bag tea not being okay. She's generally very thorough so I think she would have said something if it was a problem. People have differing opinions about caffeine; I'm pretty sure green tea has caffeine. Just something to keep in mind. Ginger helped me a lot. Good luck.

Yes, the nausea is exactly why I've been meaning to try it. My fiance searched everywhere for ginger tea but the only thing he found was green ginger tea. I'll have to ask my dr about caffeine next time I talk to him.
Thank you very much!

Re: Ginger Tea while pregnant?

It is probably okay in small amounts for your stomach. But taking it in a strong form such as ginger root in large amounts all day it is an abortive. So crystallized ginger is probably just fine, since it probably isn't that strong.

Hmmm....I know lots of women who have used ginger tea, ginger ale and ginger root for nausea with no ill effects.
