Hey everyone out there!! Just wanted to give you a little update on me and baby Abigail. I'm 16 weeks now and everything's going good so far! I got another level II ultrasound today and was shown alot of certain features she has for Trisomy 18. One was clenched fists. Her fists are clenched tight! Her heartbeat is starting to mellow out a bit. It used to be really high, but has recently dropped down into the 160's. I rented a doppler heartbeat thing from my OB/GYN so I can hear her heartbeat every day now. I have also developed gestational diabetes Does anybody else out there have it?
Well there's the update...oh and i THOUGHT i felt her move..but it just might've been gas. hehe.
Thanks for the update, sweetie! I'm happy to see you so excited even under these circumstances.
I had an old friend who developed gest. diabetes, too. She checked her blood sugar regularly and was careful what she ate. I'm sure it's a hassle, but with your positive outlook, you'll hang in there!
Glad to hear from you! I didn't have gest diabetes, my mom did and from what I understand you just have to be careful what you eat. Sounds like all else is well though...we keep you in our thoughts.
Hey star shine. Your positive attitude is commendable. From your post, I think I'm reading that you're carrying a baby who looks to have Trisomy 18 (aka Edwards syndrome)? I was just wondering what support you are getting? I know a bit about this condition (a friend of a friend's daughter was born with full Trisomy 18) and think it is absolutely imperitive that you are receiving both emotional and practical support, for both yourself and bubs. Is there something in place for you; say a local support group for instance? Have you doctors fully explained the implications of this to you? I think your positive focus is to be admired, and you are obviously a very strong person. I'm sorry you're having pregnancy related health problems too. You're in my thoughts. Please let us know how you are.
