Re: yeast infection..uhg

i understand the feeling,
i had never had an yeast infection in my life, then when i was 6 weeks with my first son, i got one. i went to the dr. and they told me i could only treat the itching and couldn't use anything until i was 14 wks. so i suffered a yeast infection for 7 wks. it was sooo horrible.
but at 14 weeks, my dr. told me i could treat it with over the counter med. i used monistat (the one day ovual) and in 2 days it was gone. thank God.
so i would ask your dr. or nurse, but mine told me that it was safe.
good luck and take care

Re: yeast infection..uhg

Definitely call your OB before self-medicating. And definitely let him/her know that the cream wasn't enough to help you last time. It could just be that it was never completely wiped out the last time and lingered around enough to turn into another infection this time. I doubt they'll put you on the oral meds but you may be able to take the vaginal suppositories in addition to the external cream. Good luck!
