This is my first pregnancy. I am about 5 weeks pregnant and we actually just found out on Saturday. I thought I was getting my period because i had cramps and realized I was about 6 days late and pregnant. I have cramps now this is about the 4th day no spotting. They one day feel like period cramps and then feel like ovulation pains. I go to my doctor on wednesday for the first time. Should I be concerned?

Any advice would be helpful

Cramping in early pregnancy is totally normal. If the pain goes from your back and wraps around and/or is accompanied by bleeding, call your doctor, but if you have abdominal cramps and feel like you're period is coming but never shows, that's totally normal. It also can come and go, so don't freak out if the cramping goes away. As long as there is no bleeding, you're fine.

cramping is normal. I had this too all the way through about 8-10 weeks about. I didn't find out till I was 6 weeks bc I just figured I was cramping and about to get my period. Its scary bc cramping is associated with miscarriage and ectopic pregnancies (which I convinced myself I was having)...but the ob did an ultrasound around 9 weeks and everything was fine. Most people don't experience cramping but on the upside I had no morning sickness

...so who knows you might be able to trade out one inconvenience for another. I was perfectly ok dealing with some cramps as opposed to puking every day! GOOD LUCK! I hope everything is ok
