Anyone heard of Nexium during pregnancy for heartburn?

I have had chronic stomach aches due to heartburn for the last eight months or so. The only thing that has taken it away is Nexium, and I have tried everything! I am now seven weeks pregnant and my stomach aches are returning with a vengeance because I am no longer on the Nexium. Has anyone heard of Nexium being ok in pregnancy? I have heard mixed opions, but mainly I have heard that I should not take it. Anyone know??

I don't know about the Nexium thing, but have you had yourself tested for a lactose intolerance? Most humans have it to some degree since we are not calves drinking mother's milk, we are humans drinking cow's milk!! If you are up to the challenge, first research your non-dairy alternatives for the protein and calcium (there are thousands) intake and then quit using bovine dairy altogether for a month or two. If you have any sensitivity to dairy, you will feel leaps and bounds better. I haven't used cow dairy in a couple of years and I have never felt better. There are so many alternatives out there, its just that we are so used to our cow products!! Good luck and I hope you find a workable solution to your heartburn!

Re: Anyone heard of Nexium during pregnancy for heartburn?

Thank you Kitty for the response. I have never thought of that, although I don't believe it is that only because these stomach problems started randomly one day last year and never went away. It was really upsetting. I'm kind of a creature of habit in the sense that I have always had the same diet. Could an intolerance to milk start suddenly like that a the age of 28? That would be crazy if that were my problem!!

Re: Anyone heard of Nexium during pregnancy for heartburn?

I saw it happen to my boss's daughter all of a sudden. She went to the gynocologist, the gastrointerologist.....ALLLLL the specialists. Nobody thought to ask her what she was eating. A friend of my boss randomly told her it sounded like a lactose intolerance. Bam. Done. Shes cured as long as she doesn't eat any cow products. The daughter in question was 18 when this happened.
