fetus measuring too small?

so in my last ultra sound which the doc said i was 9 weeks, the fetus measured 1.09- and the normal measurement is 2.2 +, should i be worried?
also- do chances of a misccariage become less after you hear the heartbeat? or after 10 weeks?

thank you again to all of you who previously answered all my questions

Re: fetus measuring too small?

There's a lot of reasons why you may be measuring small. Most commonly your dates are off a bit. We consistently measured a week behind in all my early US (I had an US a week from week 5-9). Then I had a scan at 15 weeks and all of a sudden we were measuring a little ahead. It's just so hard to get a good measurement on something so tiny. I wouldn't worry as long as there is consistent growth.

Your chance of m/c drops when you hear the HB, then again at 10 weeks, then again at 12 weeks.
