Re: Post Partum - June mommas!

Daisy, so sorry to hear about your dad. But glad to hear they were both there for the birth.
Seems like just yesterday we were June Mommies. I soooooo want another one!!!! Cooper is just the cutest little guy I still find myself waking at night just to look at his beautiful precious face. I must tell him I love him 50+ times a day.

Theres something I want to share but dont want to gross you out. Have any of you heard about this infant potty training???? Cooper has only pooped in his diaper one time in the last three weeks. What happens is he gives like this two minute warning grunt type of thing. I undo his diaper & he poops. Its the most bizarre thing. He laughs at it & I say to him do you have to go potty? Push & I put his legs up toward his tummy (seems to help him in the pushing dept.) I get all excited & tell him what a good & big boy he is.... Anyways, I do not have him without a diaper ever but I got this article emailed to me today about it & I guess its common. Some of these parents let their kids go without a diaper at this age. That I find hard to believe but then again every time Cooper poops Im totally amazed. Its like on demand or something... But its not like I could put him on the toilet at his age so it doesnt do much good except that were sort of in touch with each other I guess...

Anyways I hope you all had a great weekend!! I wish Coop had some chub on him like Mason does!!! We go for his 4 month shots Wednesday & Im not looking forward to the tears.

Will try to check in more often. Cooper hasnt rolled yet & he hates tummy time but holds his head up real good. He hates the stroller & I am due to have a movable one delivered tomorrow Im so looking forward to it. Then he can fac eme. His walker hasnt been delivered yet but his exersaucer has & he doesnt like it yet. Im looking forward to a jumperoo now. & I think I might sell my townhouse when my tenants lease is up to pay for all this baby stuff & so I wont have to go back to work for a while. I cant imagine being away from him....

P.S. Im still crying everyday. They upped my tranquilizer though & put me on a different anti depressant. Its getting better slowly. Are any of you having any post pardomy stuff going on?

Re: Post Partum - June mommas!

Hi!

We are doing well also, Ethan has had a bit of an upset tummy but we all have and he hasn't lost that cute little smile so I'm guessing he's doing ok. He has the cutest smile, and cute little dimples ooohhh I could eat him

I heard all of you ladies talking about the Jumperoo but had never heard of it before and then we were out shopping last week and what should we see but a Jumperoo! So I snapped one up and he loves it, his feet dont quite reach the floor but he loves for any one of us to bounce him, it's so cute. Another thing I bought upon recommendations from friends was a Bumbo seat. We put him in it and it looks really strange but he seems to like it because he can see eveything that is going on around him!

I'm really snappy this weekend lol my period seems to have come back with avengance! DH has gone out to watch England in the Rugby Wold Cup Final and I just know he is sick of me this weekend, Im soooo moody but I just can't help it! He went for his Vasectomy counselling on Thursday and was told he will have the op a week on Tuesday, he's so nervous, bless him!

Gotta dash, little man is stirring, take care all!! Angela

Re: Post Partum - June mommas!

Hello Ladies

Emily and I are back from the UK. Dad is ok, but has lost a lot of strength and weight and is quite cranky these days (not surprisingly). He starts radiotherapy in a couple of week and hopefully that will help.

Emily was great on the flights, the flight attendants loved her and the other passengers said they were surprised at how good she was. Luckily I had her in her own car seat next to me so it made things much easier for me. She is happy in there and I would just take her out from time to time and feed her and change her and play with her, she really was great.

I have heard about the pooping thing too where people put them on a potty as an infant. It wouldn't really work for me as Emily just lets out one grunt then totally fills her diaper and I just pray the diaper keeps it all in (she does it twice a day and usually it shoots up the back) gotta love the breastmilk poops!!

As I was away I missed the 4mth shots but have an appt for her on Tuesday. I did get her weighed while I was in the UK and got a great baby health book from a friend of my mums who was a health nurse. She is 14lbs now and has the chub on the thighs, too cute. She is LOVING the exersaucer, jolly jumper and her bouncer now she can bounce herself. Her favourite thing to do is grab her toes. When I was in the UK I went a classifieds site and found a cheap baby bath and also a cheap jolly jumper. It took me a while to find it as in the UK they call it a door bouncer. Anyway, it is one of those that hangs in the doorway and she loves it. She has always been able to support her own weight so she stands up and spins around. She does that in the exersaucer too. She loves the TV and even watched most of Aladdin on video with her neices. I put her in her carseat and she was a happy bunny.

well, I hope you ladies are doing well. It sounds like we are all enjoying mommyhood. I think I am past the post pardomy thing but from time to time it is still very overwhelming. Take care all,
Daisy

Re: Post Partum - June mommas!

Glad to hear everything went well while you were in the UK Daisy! I was thinking about you and Emily and hoped you would post upon your return. Im glad she was such an for you - I bet that made your flight nice.

Things are good here. DH and I are busy keeping up with work, the kids are getting ready for Halloween.....the dogs are, well....our fur kids.

Mason weighed 20lbs at his 4mth checkup. I have cut his feedings WAY back....in hopes that he will plain on out on his weight gain and possibly eat more at once and sleep better. So far it hasnt worked. LOL! The doctor said we're free to start cereal whenever we want. Ive tried twice at 2 separate days/times....while he loves the taste and eats well he certainly doesnt sleep any longer, lol. Hes still a good sleeper at the beginning of his nights and up a couple of times afterwards. Hes still my little chub-a-saurus so I dont care. I can sleep later.

Lets see...what else. Has everyone started their periods? I havent gotten mine and am getting a tad worried......not sure whats up with that. I think with DS #2 it took this long too but I cant remember exactly how long.

Anyways - Mason calls. I cant wait to hear how everyone is keeping up! Lets keep this going for another month or so ladies!!

Talk to ya'll soon!

Re: Post Partum - June mommas!

Hi Kat,
I thought we didn't get periods back until we stopped breastfeeding?? I know some people do get them sooner as well but do most people?

Emily has been sleeping with me at night since she was born although during the day she sleeps in her basinnet. I'm going to try getting her to sleep in her own room now that we are settled and see how it goes. She does feed once or twice during the night so I'm not sure if I'm going to like it. It's so easy when she's right next to me. I know long term that won't be good though and I would like to have more room back in the bed! I haven't started her on any cereal yet and think I'll wait another month or so or until she shows signs of being more hungry.

Well, little missy is awake so I'm going out for a walk, it's lovely today and way too nice to stay in unpacking boxes - ha!

later,
Daisy

Re: Post Partum - June mommas!

Yeah I couldnt remember if I had started before I was done BF'ing or not...Im pretty sure I was post PG about 6 months when I started - but I had BF both of them until they were nearly a year old.....

Yeah we are going to hold off on cereal too...I just wanted to try and see, lol. It was more for my selfishness for sure tho, lol. Hes clearly not in need of any more food, lol.....he has started to smack his lips everytime DH and I eat, so I know its close to when he'll want food.

Mason sleeps in bed with me too....I put him to bed in his cradle and after he wakes he stays in bed with me....hes nearly grown out of his cradle so soon enough he'll be sleeping in his own crib in his own room.....should be interesting, lol.

Hope you had a nice walk!! Talk to you soon!

Re: Post Partum - June mommas!

Emily is almost too big for her bassinette too. I haven't put the crib together yet but will do it within the next couple of days and she if she'll take to it...I don't hold out a lot of hope LOL. I took her for her 4mth shots today and all was good, other than a big red face and high pitch scream when the needles went in. I just love having her sleep with me as she wakes up so happy in the morning and will lie for about half an hour just cooing and making happy noises. She is starting to take up more of the bed now though...I think it's similar to the dog who can end up triple the size once on the bed haha.

Not much else new from us. chat soon,
Daisy

Re: Post Partum - June mommas!

Hi ladies,

Just thought Id drop by....had to take Mason to the doctor today as he has his first cold - or so I thought. I took him in this morning and he has croup (sp). Hes very sick and they wanted to put him in the hospital. The only reason hes home with me now was because his blood oxygen was at %97. Had it been at %95 or lower Id be writing this from the Children Hospital. They put him on 4 days of Prednisone and hope that will help. If that doesnt help Im to take him in straight away to the ER. I hate it when my babies are sick - I feel so helpless. And he sounds awful when he coughs. He goes thru coughing fits and then crying spells afterwards because Im sure his throat is raw from the coughing and crying. *sigh*

Anyways - how is everyone else holding out? Our 6 mth PP is almost up in here. Im going to miss you guys. I dunno what Im going to do without my faithful June 07 mommas.....

I hope you're all well. Write when you can.

Take care
Kat

Re: Post Partum - June mommas!

Oh Kat, I hope your little Mason is ok. That must be scary. Emily has had a couple of little colds but more just a sniffly nose for a couple of days. She had a fever a couple of days after her shots but was ok after tylenol and a nights sleep. We never stop worrying though. I'm glad the little guy is home with you.

Emily is asleep in her crib, I'm trying to get her used to it and it's not going very well. She is a stubborn madam and will cry as soon as she is put in there even though she is tired. It's getting better though and I think sometime in the next week I'm gonna bite the bullet and only put her to sleep in there instead of with me at night, I'm gonna miss her but she's getting used to rolling over and grabbing for the boob! Her naps seem to last only 20 mins or sometimes 45 mins, I miss the 2-3 hr naps she used to take. Hopefully they will return someday She will sleep if I take her out in the stroller or car seat but I can't do that all the time. Funny thing though, at night I just lie her down and I lie next to her and she goes right to sleep without me feeding her or anything and no crying. They are very clever and manipulative little creatures, that's why we love em

Oh, she's awake, yep that was about 20 minutes. later....

Re: Post Partum - June mommas!

Thanks Daisy. Im sure he'll be fine - Im just very worried right now. Silly little boy feels icky, but is so incredibly talkative and smiley. He sure has me wrapped around his little finger, thats for darn sure!

He has 2 teeth threatening to push thru on the bottom at any time - how nice would that be to have 2 all at once! Save me the hassle and his pain!

Mason will sleep at night in his cradle at night, but not so much during the day. Lately since hes been ill Ive been laying on my bed nursing him to sleep. And letting him nap on the bed....the humidifier seems to help his breathing only a little.

I hear you on the 20 - 40 minutes naps. Little stinker. Just about the time you start to do somethin they wake! Such is life....

Hope you're well my friend.

Kat

Re: Post Partum - June mommas!

hehe, I love nursing in bed, it's so much easier and more comfy. Emily has no teeth yet but it drooling ALL the time, I still don't see any bumps or anything and she's a happy bunny (as long as she isn't laid in her crib for a nap LOL )

Little Mason man will be just fine, and may even try for an extra couple of days special attention from his mama

I'm gonna miss this site too, make sure to keep in touch through the 0-18mth board from time to time

Oooh, I saw real tears for the first time today...oh man, they are killer aren't they? Of course it was in her crib, she is pulling out the big guns to see if it works LOL Breaks my heart.

take care of your little man and give him some extra kisses while he's sick, ah man too easy to kiss the chub on these babies, happy 5mth birthday by the way

Daisy

Re: Post Partum - June mommas!

Oh yes happy 5 mths! Seeing as our little cherubs share the same birthday.

Im sure he'll be fine....hes up now and boy does he sound bad! Weasing real bad and so hot to the touch! I just gave him some Motrin with hopes that his fever goes down or breaks....it is just heart breaking. Hes had tears for about 3 weeks....they only come out if he scratches himself or if hes overly tired/cranky. But yes, holy crap does it break your heart!

Ill definately stay up with what you and Emily are doing. You guys all helped me thru SO much!!

Masons teeth are like right there....seriously. You can see the whites of the teeth.....Im NOT looking forward to nursing with "Sir bites alot" LOL!! He already flattens my nipple when he nurses sometimes. Think about that when he has teeth! Sooooooooooooooo not looking forward to that!

Re: Post Partum - June mommas!

LOL Emily uses my nipple as a teether too....OUCH! I couldn't imagine that with teeth! It's so sudden I was like woooah! What was that? Now she does it quite often and she is such a lazy feeder that pulling her off doesn't make any difference as she doesn't really care and just laughs. She would happily go without feeding but then I'd be up all night feeding her so I want to make sure she gets as much during the day as possible.

How about you other June mommas? How are things going?

Re: Post Partum - June mommas!

hello there ladies!

GET WELL SOON MASON!

Sorry to hear your little guy has croup. I remember my friends daughter having it and her cough was awful to hear, like a bark and sounded so raw. I feel for the little guy, its bad enough feeling poorly when you are all grown up, never mind 5 m/o. hope he gets well soon.

Daisy glad to hear Emily is doing well also, I'm hearing you about the naps, AND Ethan has started to wake once for a feed again through the night. My health visitor has suggested weaning him now, as Department of Health guidelines now state that we shouldnt wean until 6 months! So going to try him with a little rusk mixed with formula, we'll see how it goes. I think I was spoiled when his big sis was a baby as she slept through from 6 weeks and never woke again through the night but hey ho you gotta take the rough with the smooth and his cute chubby smiles more than make up for feeling tired!

Saturday I received a summons for jury service, I just cant believe I have been in my same job for 15 years and have never been called up and now Im enjoying my maternity leave I have to go!

Also, DH had his Vasectomy, so now, for sure, this will be the last time I will be able to grace these boards but I feel so blessed to have 2 happy healthy little monkeys!

Cant believe its almost 6 months and our time on these boards is up, thanks to all of you girls for keeping me sane during my pregnancy! Take care, will keep popping in until the end of the month. Big hugs to Mason, byeee

Re: Post Partum - June mommas!

Hiya Mum!

Nice job on the Vas! LOL!! DH said he wants to do it, but has yet to.....sheesh I wonder if he ever will! Good for you guys tho!

Well....I have some news about my little Mason Man.....are ya ready?

Wait for it...

...

...

...

...

...

...

He pushed thru 2 teeth on the bottom today! I think that has a little bit to do with his fever etc, but still doesnt excuse the Croup. He seems worse today and I let it ride. I gabe him his Prednisone, but I honestly dont think its working. If he continues to get worse Im taking to the ER tonight. Hes just so miserable. Add to that the 2 new teeth and my guy is a grumpy boy! NOW I have to make sure my nipple teething ring doesnt get chomped on too hard!

Anyways - Off I go to get some rest before he wakes himself up coughing. Ill let you all know how we're doing. Keep up when ya'll can!

Re: Post Partum - June mommas!

YAY for Mason and his two little teeth How is he doing? I hope he is feeling better now...did you have to take him to the ER?

Hi Mum - did you try the rusk yet? How did it go? I'm dying to try Emily on food too. I thought you could get out of Jury service if you had a little baby? Depends if you want to or not though. I can't remember if you are b'feeding or not but I'm sure that would be a good reason not to do jury service. Hopefully it will be a short trial.

Emily is now rolling over both ways, it's so cute. She is getting mad that she can't go forward though, her bum goes in the air but she doesn't have the arm power to move forward yet. Still no teeth or any sign of any. Just lots of drooling. She has diaper rash for the first time this week, I don't know if it's related to teething or not. It seems to be getting worse not better even though I've been slathering cream on her. I'm going to go and get some better stuff today and see if it helps.

have a great weekend ladies

Re: Post Partum - June mommas!

Man this Croup is killing me! Hes just now starting to feel better. I took him back in last week and they said he was getting better - no fever etc. Just this awful cough and is weezing. They attributed some of his breathing/weezing to his being so fat, lol. Who knows....I just want my baby back....

I have a dumb question....what's rusk? Is that the same as rice cereal? I tried Mason on cereal again last night (this was his 3rd try with it) and he was up the bulk of the night projectile vomitting. I think his tummy is either too sensitive or hes allergic. *sigh* Ill never get a full nights sleep, lol

Off I go - hes hollering in his bouncer-roo. Talk to you ladies soon!
