Question Hemmoroids

Hi all,

I am currently not pregnant, but I have no idea what board to write this question on, and I got these pesky hemmoroids when I gave birth to my son, so this is where I'll ask.
Does anybody know of an effective way to get rid of them? Like I say, I had my son 4 and a half months ago, and I have had almost constant hemmoroids ever since! I got some prep. H today, but haven't used it because the instructions are very vague... It came with a strange looking applicator, and I might sound like a complete moron, but I have no idea how to use it! Any ideas?

Re: Hemmoroids

I developed these painful bumps after delivering my daughter as well two months ago. You don't necessarily have to use the applicator if you're uncomfortable with that. I actually used the tucks medicated pads (which also helped with the episiotomy site). Just keep things really clean down there. My doc said to use some hydrocorisone cream for pain too. Hot baths help, and keep yourself from getting constipated. I "feel" your pain!

Re: Hemmoroids

I actually just saw a Maternal Fetal specialist today (for GD though I did mention the awful hemorrhoids I also have) and he prescribed Proctofoam, noting that it's very effective at treating hemorrhoids as well as alleviating the discomfort. I think I heard about Proctofoam being very effective from someone else also. Anyway, if your doc can write a prescription I think it's probably worth a try.

Re: Hemmoroids

Thanks so much for the replies! I'll try using the prep. H cream, and if it doesn't work, I'll try what you ladies are using... Thanks again!
