Smile Andrew Cosmo has arrived!!

Hi ladies, I am so thrilled to announce the birth of my beautiful son Andrew Cosmo!

It all started with a lentil curry which DH and I had for dinner on on the Friday 21st. Spent that night tossing and turning with a lot of wind (LOL!). Saturday the wind continued but I got some little cramps in my back and stomach. Saturday night 8pm sitting on the sofa munching a bag of crisps my waters broke so I phoned ther hospital and they said to try and wait until my contractions were 2-3 mins apart before coming in. At 10pm I went to the hospital and was 6cm dilated and thats where things stopped being quite so simple!

By 1am I had only dilated a further 1-2 cm so I was given pithidin(?) to induce stronger contractions. By 5am I was 10cm and good to push. After pushing for almost 2 hours I still couldn't get the baby's head to crown (was very close but I was getting tired) so they opted to use a ventouse to help me along. At 7:04am on 23rd September my son was born weighing 7lbs 10oz and breastfed ravenously whilst I got stitched up. I got a very bad 2nd degree tear and apparently the midwives think it will heal but leave me quite badly scarred .

On pain killers as it's hard to sit or stand too long but it's all worth while when I see my little baby's face! I am already planning to try for another as soon as I am mended!

Thanks for everyones support and advice xxx

Re: Andrew Cosmo has arrived!!

Sounds like you had a very good birth experience. Good luck when you start trying again. You never know, next time you might get a bfp on the first try.
