Re: Do any stores sell the ultrasound gel??

Just use water soluble jelly, like the plain KY jelly. I used it my entire pregnancy, I didn't buy any from the doppler company. Just use the regular stuff from the drug store.

Wow. That's a great question. We looked all over for it. We ended up buying it online. We thought Babies R Us would sell it; but no.

Re: Do any stores sell the ultrasound gel??

Good question. I ordered it online the first time. I found that aloe vera gel is a good conducer. It isn't quite as clear in sound but it works well enough to hear the heartbeat and time it, etc. Sometimes you just hear some extraneous noise. But a bottle of aloe vera gel is a lot cheaper and easier to get locally than ultrasound gel.

Re: Do any stores sell the ultrasound gel??

my Doppler just came with aloe lotion and you know what? regular lotion seems to work just the same. But if yours is specifically made for aloe gel then I would say that the store bought aloe is probably just as good.

Re: Do any stores sell the ultrasound gel??

Im so glad I asked. Just wish I had asked before I paid $29 to have the gel overnighted from BabyFM! Ah well, it didnt make it in 1 day, so Im thinking they better not be charging me the overnight price. Thanks for all the help Ladies =))
