Andrew Patrick is here!

My due date was 11/7 but I went in for a scheduled c-section 10/29, due to baby's large head size and me having too much amniotic fluid. I was so nervous and anxious the past few months, up until we got to the hospital. Then everything went so smoothly! It was great! We got there at 6am and they hooked me up to the monitors ( I was actually having contractions!) and got my iv and catheter (not bad). Right at 7:30 they wheeled me into the OR and at 7:58 Andrew was born. He was 8 lbs 5 ounces and 21 1/2 inches long. His head was 15 1/4 inches! But he is beautiful! I was in recovery 2 hours. The spinal wasn't as bad as I thought- it made me itch and vomit later but not bad. Andrew had to go to the level 2 nursery for a little over a day- fluid in his lungs and rapid breathing but everything turned out ok. We breastfed for a week, but then hit a roadblock so are using formula now. I should write a lot more about my wonderful experience but Andrew is crying!
