October Moms - Share you good news and symptoms

Hi there all newly informed October moms! I am due Oct 7, and after 3 yrs TTC, and one IVF cycle, couldn't be happier.

Just wanted to see what all of you are feeling? Anyone else out there?

My bbs are sore, and I feel a little dizzy all day - especially when standing / walking. Try to keep food in my belly almost all day. But yesterday & today I feel less symptoms - not as much tugging in my abdomen, I'm sure everything is fine, but I can't wait for my first u/s on Feb 11 to confirm.

Hi Just Dance...I have my 1st ultrasound on Friday and I can't wait. I am very concerned b/c I feel like my only symptom...sore breasts has gone away. Is this nornal? Has anyone else had this happen and everything was ok?

Congrats to everyone! I am due on October 2nd. I am very excited. This is my second pregnancy but I miscarried during the first pregnancy. I am of course very concerned because of previous problems. But I really hope everything goes okay! Everyone pray for me please. I am making my first u/s appointment tomorrow...

Re: October Moms - Share you good news and symptoms

I have polycystic ovaries, and didn't think that i would ever be here.
The first few drug treatments didn't work, and had not so nice side effects. Talk about going up and own like a yoyo. After the last time i saw him, he told me I had ovulated (for the first time in probably 18mths) The doctor told me if I hadn't had my period by monday feb 4th i was probably preg.
Well no period came.. and I convinced myself that it was my body rebelling again. I was so scared to do the pregnancy test, and hoped i wouldn't get my periods. Well i lasted to tues, came home with a test, completely busting to go to the toilet.
A little cross came up and i couldn't believe it. I did another one when my husband came home. Apparently he also bought a pregnancy test on his way home. positive again.
Confirmed with a blood test yesterday. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a phone where you can't be overheard!
I spoke to my specialist and he thinks i am 5 and a half weeks gone. Which means I am probably due early october.

I am have had some nausea, not to bad, mostly in the evening. I also have a constant ache on my left side. But not bad enough to need pain relief. I have been told this is normal.
I have very sore breasts, and they are already bigger. I have had to change bras already.

The hardest thing is not telling people. I have a higher chance of miscarriage because of my POCS. I was out with my dad last night and I just wanted to tell him. I think everyone at my work is perplexed why I am suddenly so happy.
I give them 2 weeks before they will work it out. This is what happens when you work in a hospital as a nurse.
I am happy but scared. I just want to next 6 weeks to pass quickly!

I have my first u/s in 3 weeks

Re: October Moms - Share you good news and symptoms

Hi Want2be, I'm excited for Friday to come for you. I can definitely relate to the fears. Yesterday & today I don't "feel" as pg anymore. In fact felt AF-like mild cramping today, and thought the worst & kept checking in the bathroom, so far so good. I guess I'm still in shock & disbelief over the pg. At the end of the day - I'm sure we'll both be totally fine & bring home our precious miracles later this year! Like Steven Covey says, "Begin with the end in mind." Let's try to focus on the outcome, and all the steps are just the process.

Forgetmen, congrats! i hope this one sticks! Would love to share the journey with you. Prayers coming your way.

anoif, Wow, what a miraculous blessing. Keep that smile wide as can be. Also, it depends on your relationship with your father, but I think that would be ok. They way I look at it, with who I tell early is: if I would want/need their support even if things went wrong, then I might as well share the joy part too! It's such exciting news!

Re: October Moms - Share you good news and symptoms

Oh good I am not the only one who checks and worries every time i go to the toilet or i feel wetness.

Justdance - your right. I have told one friend who is both my husbands' and I best friend. I have also told my boss as i work in a hospital. I have decided I will tell my parents after my first ultrasound.

this would just be easier if i was one week more preg. I am going over to my inlaw for 5 days (who live on the other side of Oz) early march, 12 days before I hit 12 weeks!!.

So i am also going to have to decide weather or not to tell them and wait til I get back home then call them and put up with the flack of them knowing I didn't tell them when I saw them.

These things also have a habit of working out, so I am not that worried.

I wake up every morning with a smile on my face. I am pregnant

Wow you ladies have some truly wonderful stories! Congrats on all of your pregnancies, what a blessing.
I am due 30 September so I very well could be an Oct mom. I am 6 weeks along. I am soo excited, I have a 2 year old ds and know what all of this morning sickness will bring. I have been feeling soooo sick pretty much constantly but I know the wonderful outcome and hope it goes by fast because it is hard feeling so sick nonstop.
Anyways look forward to hearing from all of you.

Re: October Moms - Share you good news and symptoms

Greetings, Octobor moms! I am pregnant with my first and due around Oct 4th. The doctor doesn't want to see me until I'm 8-10 weeks, so my first appt. is not until March 3rd. A few days ago I was getting a little worried because other than getting tired earlier in the evening, I was not really having any symptoms, but the nausea is starting to hit. I haven't physically gotten sick (yet - knock on wood!) but have definitely had some pretty queasy moments the last couple of days. I work in a pretty big office and quite a distance from the ladies room, so I'm a little worried about how to handle that if it gets bad. But other than that I'm feeling fine.. I welcome the symptoms actually, because it makes it seem a little more real. So far my husband and I haven't shared the news with anyone. We plan to tell our immediate families next weekend, which I'm excited about... I talk to my mom on the phone every day and it's been so hard not to tell her - this will be her first grandchild and she's going to be thrilled. My husband is an only child, so this will be the first grandchild for his parents also. We plan to wait a little longer before telling the rest of the world, but we'll see how it goes. I look forward to following along with the rest of you and sharing our experiences!

Re: October Moms - Share you good news and symptoms

Well after my first miscarriage, I swore I wouldn't tell anyone this time... but I am so excited already and my entire job knows as well as all of our immediate family. I wish I didn't have a big mouth but I do! And, I am super excited. I have my first u/s on the 19th and cannot wait.

Symptoms I have: Very sore breasts 24/7, almost constant nausea - have to eat like every three hours to feel "not sick", and I am having a very rough time sleeping because I can't find a comfortable position! Any suggestions?

Re: October Moms - Share you good news and symptoms

Hi Ladies,

I am so excited to see more October Moms joining! I had my first ultrasound today!! We saw the hearbeat and got our first picture!!! It was amazing! I am PG with my 1st child after some time with IF treatments...it finally worked on our 4th IUI!! Today's appointment was with our fertility specialist, we will see him 2 more times until I am 8 weeks and then I will transfer to my OB. My symptoms remain the same...barely any. My breasts are barely sore anymore which did scare me, but they said my progesterone count was over 20 and my HCG was 26,000 which is good for 6 weeks. Oh, they said my due date is Oct 4. I calculated Oct 2 based on my LMP, but they have a different formula. Seeing the heartbeat was truly amazing!! I can't wait till next week's appointment to see it again. So far we have only told my Mom, but we are telling my Dad and step-mom tonight and in-laws over the weekend. Everyone else is waiting till March 15 at a St. Patty's Day party...it will be a dead giveaway when this Irish girl isn't celebrating. Have a great weekend everyone! I am really looking forward to chatting on this board!

Ok I had to laugh, because that has been my biggest obstacle to keeping this secret so far! I had an after work happy hour with my team last weekend and thankfully no one suspected that my pina coladas were virgin . Tonight we are having dinner with friends and let them pick the place - sure enough they pick a place known for fantastic margaritas, which they know that I quite enjoy. I think I'll use the excuse of being on a medication that doesn't mix well with alcohol. Not that I'm normally a heavy or frequent drinker, but lately I've found myself in some situations where it's been a little tricky to not arouse suspicion!

That is so exciting about your scan! This being my first pregnancy, I thought I'd need to go in right away for an official test or something, but they said no, not until I'm 8-10 weeks. So I imagine I'll get some kind of scan at that appointment? I'm glad I at least have you ladies to talk to, since I haven't told anyone else yet!!

Re: October Moms - Share you good news and symptoms

Hello!! I'm 6 weeks along with #3. This pregnancy was a total shock, being that I have PCOS, and had to take Clomid with my two daughters to conceive! My youngest is only 3 months old! I'm not having many symptoms to date, just occasional nausea, and some headaches, as I'm on a Progesterone supplement. I'm kinda worried about not having many symptoms. I go back to the doc 2/19!

Re: October Moms - Share you good news and symptoms

Welcome shortstuff! Wow, about 12 months apart! That will be so much fun for your kids growing up!!
I think a few of us have written that are symptoms are minimal. It seems to be ok.
We told my Dad and step-mom on Friday night and my in-laws on Sunday. They were all very happy! My MIL didn't get it at all...it was her birthday so we put a picture of the posotive preg test in the card and she thought we were making a birth control joke for her age??? She was looking at it for about 3 minutes and then we gave her the ultra-sound pic and had to explain!
One sorta annoying thing....we asked ALL of our parents NOT to tell anyone yet...we want to wait a few more weeks to be safe. Well, my MIL leaves our house and calls my brother and sister-in-law to tell them. Then we get a phone call from them asking DH "what's new". We immediately knew that they knew. I was really upset, as was DH cause he really wanted to tell his brother himself. I don't want to take away her joy, but I just feel like it was our news to tell. Anyway, I guess I'm over it now, but I told DH we may have to withhold telling her the sex till after we tell everyone else. haha!
Just Dance- I read on the IF board you had your 1st ultrasound...share your news here too!

Re: October Moms - Share you good news and symptoms

This great. I love to see the October 2008 population boom.

We had our first u/s yesterday at exactly 6wks, which was amazing. On Friday we have our next u/s where we will expect to see the heartbeat. Of course I have myself all freaked out - because how can it change that much in just 5 days? If they couldn't see it yesterday, do they really expect to see it on Friday? There was a yolk sac.

I'm trying not to be such a worry-wart, but can't seem to help it. I hate that I keep telling myself "I will feel better when....(pg, then blood test, then 1st u/s, now 2nd u/s, then it will be 1st trimester, etc). I don't want to wish away this pg, I want to relish every moment of it! So much easier said than done.

All of my family knows. My sister & SIL both found out they were pg on the same day we found out we are pg! So the family news is BIG news and others are sharing the fun & excitement - which is ok with me. I want to tell my circle of friends / co-workers later, but family friends I think are going to know pretty quick.
