Early Pregnancy - Extreme Cramping

I just found out I am pregnant (3 positive hpt -YAY!). And I am having really bad cramping, just feels like bad menstrual cramps. I know cramping is normal in pregnancy, but is real painful/constant cramping normal?

((((Finally pregnant after 3 and half years of trying, a miscarriage, endometriosis and 7 months of hormone therapy!)))

Well, its hard to say if the degree of cramping is normal as I can't feel your cramps. What I can tell you is that in the beginning of my pregnancy, in fact for like the first month maybe more, I had cramps constantly. They weren't extremely painful, but I was definitely uncomfortable. If you're not experiencing any bleeding, I wouldn't worry. Good Luck and Congrats!!

Re: Early Pregnancy - Extreme Cramping

Hi beanie~
I experienced cramping in early pregnancy. It felt just like AF was going to show. I'm a little over 7 mos preggers and have endo also. I did IVF to get preggers and told my IVF doc that I was experiencing cramping. He told me it was my lining thickening and preparing for a growing baby. As long as your not bleeding I beleive this is pretty normal. I am soooo happy you are pregnant though I know how it feels to try for so long and finally get that positive pregnancy test. CONGRATS!!!!!!

Re: Early Pregnancy - Extreme Cramping

Congrats!

I had bad menstral cramps in the beginning too. In fact I swore I would go to the bathroom to find blood and miscarry but I never did and I delivered a healthy baby girl 9 months later. It's totally normal as long as there is no blood.
Jasquard good luck! I didn't realize you were so far along already! Time really flies!

Re: Early Pregnancy - Extreme Cramping

I wouldn't worry to much unless you are bleeding. I am 8 wks and I still have some cramps not as bad as earlier on. I found out really really early and I cramped really bad some days I was so sure when I went to the bathroom I would see blood. So try not to worry to much everything I have read said it is completely normal but I was so worried I talked with my dr too and he just said the samethings that I had read.
Good Luck and Congrats!
