Excited to Join this Community - A Recent IF Grad

Well, I can hardly believe I'm making my "grand" entrance. It's been years of TTC and finally I get to start talking about my journey to motherhood here on the pregnancy board.

After my 4th IVF attempt, my DH and I got the news we dreamed of... a long-overdue BFP. Our first HCG levels were high (675), and then we saw them more than triple in 48 hrs. At our first u/s last Friday, our RE confirmed that we had TRIPLETS!!! Three gestational sacs and three yolk sacs. Each measured appropriately and we were told everything looked great.

It's been overwhelming... I mean we knew 3 was possible since we transferred 3 embryos. But we had transferred 3 embies twice before (only 2 the first try), and since none had previously stuck we didn't see this approach as being aggressive. DH and I have taken this news as a blessing and we are excited. Despite the risks (which I think about all the time) I am hopeful that all 3 babies will continue to thrive. Our next u/s is on Monday and at that time I should be 6wks 6days (I think). I am anxious to see the heartbeats... at that point I will be fully convinced it's triplets and I will probably be able to relax a lot more.

Congrats to all of the expectant mommies. I look forward to sharing the pregnancy experience with all of you.

To any of my IF sisters who visit from the other board... I know how hard it is to check in over here, and I thank you if you have done so. I pray for the day each of you will be joining us other grads here. Keep positive - your BFP's are coming too.

Re: Excited to Join this Community - A Recent IF Grad

After seeing your thread was closed.....and what a great reason to have a thread closed..... you were just toooooo pregnant!!!!! You really have graduated! I have been waiting since you got your BFP to see you post about YOUR pregnancy over here!!! I am so excited for you and all the grads!!!

SO, MONDAY is almost here!!! The day you get to hear your 3 little ones heartbeats!!!!!! I think seeing them all beating will make it more real! Not more special because I am sure the sound will be amazing but, you cant hear all 3 at the same time, I dont think? You can see 3 at once!!! I wish you could post pics on here!!

How are you feeling today? Bet nausea is really kicking in!!!

Re: Excited to Join this Community - A Recent IF Grad

Hi Mrs! There you are! Good to hear from you! I started feeling quite nauseaus yesterday. I even had to pull over while I was driving cause I thought for sure I was gonna lose it! Today has been much better, tho to be honest I have barely gotten up from the bed and couch except for food and to clean up a bit around the kitchen (DH still has caught on to that task )

Courtney, Hi! Thx for the warm welcome and congrats! I'm certain you can understand how exciting it is to be here!

Hey Eva, fellow recent IF grad! I also look forward to hearing about your u/s... just a week from Monday!

Hiya Teach!!! How are you and your little ones doing? I do think there is a chance that we could deliver very close together. Well, that is if I continue to progress with a triplet pregnancy... I know how extremely early it is and I keep trying to remind myself of that. I was always so desperate for just one baby that I never told myself I really wanted multiples... but now that we have pics of all three babies (okay, well pics of the gestational sacs and yolk sacs), I have fallen in love with all three. If I'm being honest I really do want to see all 3 heartbeats on Mon and also to hear one more time that everything looks great with each baby. But I do need to remind myself of where I was at just 6 weeks ago/1-3 yrs ago, and it will be a blessing if there is just two, or even one heartbeat. So... if I recall, you were due 12/31, but will likely go early Dec? I haven't seen a Dec thread, but if we see 3 heartbeats on Mon it would make sense for me to join a Dec mommy thread. I guess my actual due date is 1/26, but with triplets everything I've read says the max I could go is 34 weeks which would be ~12/15. I definitely look forward to keeping up with you and your little ones.

Re: Excited to Join this Community - A Recent IF Grad

Hey Kari-

My little ones are doing good!! I met a friend for lunch today and she was really shocked at my belly already, but from everything I have read it is good to gain weight early with multiples!!! I am anxious for my u/s on Monday with my OB. It will be nice to feel like a normal pg. woman!!

I can't wait to hear about your u/s. I'm sure everything is going to be perfect. THe feeling you will have when you see those flashing little heartbeats is truly undescribable!! I really am so happy for you!

There is a Dec. thread, but I was the last to post on it and it was early this week. I'm not sure where everyone is!! If I go 36 weeks (full term for twins) then I will deliver Dec. 3. So, I guess we will see!!

Well, again welcome to the pg. boards!!! Glad to see ya here!!

Take care of those little ones and you!!

Kari, Just wanted to stop by and let you know I'm so glad/proud you made the leap! I will try to stop over when I can to keep up with your progress...especially while I'm on bedrest next Monday! It really sounds like you're taking it easy which is great. Have you thought about how long you will continue to volunteer at the hospital? I hope you're able to enjoy that for a few more months at least!

Good luck my dear friend. All the support you've shown has meant so much to me. It's a very bittersweet moment to see you posting over here...and I mean that in the best way! - April

Kari! I am sooooo excited to read your post!!!!! Triplets, that is awesome! I started crying and giggling all at the same time reading your post here on the PREGNANCY board.

Congratulations on graduating from the IF board. It is a BIG step and a joy!

You are my dearest AZ sistah, and you have been so supportive of me and my journey, and both of our ectopics and now both pg with IVF at the same time. It is sooooo great! What a blessing. And I totally understand what you are saying - that you didn't really think about multiples and realize just one baby is a big blessing, but now getting your head around the idea. I have a friend with triplets (from clomid only) and they are soooo cute! You will love it!!

Re: Excited to Join this Community - A Recent IF Grad

Hey Kari-

I just wanted to see how you were feeling. It's almost time for the big day!!!
What time is your appointment? Mine is at 9:30am so I'm very fortunate that it is early. I have some shopping to do (I really need to buy some maternity clothes...I'm getting big already) But, I will be checking on here as soon as I get home. I will probably post about my appointment in the Dec. mom section!!

Can't wait to her about your u/s!! Make sure you and DH stay busy this weekend so it will fly by!!

Take Care,
Teach

Re: Excited to Join this Community - A Recent IF Grad

Hey Teach! Thx for the heads up on that Dec thread... I'll have to go look for it. So your first Ob appt is Monday! Congrats! It will be nice to get back to the regular doctor I'm sure. Does your Ob have an u/s machine? I know that some do and some don't... hopefully you will get another look at your twins! So what time is your appt (and what time zone are you on?)? My appt is at 11am Pacific time, so I may be coming in late with my update, but I'll def get on as soon as possible! ok... just saw your last post... so you have an early appt so even if you are on Pacific time it will def be earlier than mine. I'll for sure look for your update in the Dec thread!

April, thank you for stopping by. ***REMOVED***

Hi Wanttobe! Great to hear from you! Thx for the g/l wishes! I'm taking all I can get!

JD!!! Hi! I'm so excited to have followed in your footsteps and I feel lucky that I'm only a few months behind you! I'm just so giddy about being here, and I know we walked in the same shoes not too long ago so you completely understand. How cool that your friend got healthy triplets from clomid only! Talk about really hitting the jackpot!

Hi Holly! Yes, it really was kinda scary posting over here the first time. Kinda like I don't want to jinx it, you know? But I think all is going well... I have no reason to think otherwise. I CAN NOT WAIT for Monday!!! I've never wanted a weeked to come and go more than the one that is here upon us!

Hi Mrs! I don't have any big plans this weekend, but I am meeting some old co-workers tonite for an early happy hour and I will get to announce my exciting news! It's a group of ladies who are all actually about 7-12 years older than myself, but we always got along so well, and since all of them had children they were always so supportive about me wanting kids. I can't wait to share my good news. On a sad note, DH's grampa passed yesterday. He turned 98 last weekend, and we called him on his B-Day and told him the news of our expected triplets. I'm so glad we did. And I know he retained it, cause he called DH's aunt and spilled the beans! DH and the entire family are heading out to Indiana for the funeral... I am staying home b/c I get stressed out from flying. I feel like my FIL did a nice thing and planned the funeral an extra week out b/c he knew that I had an u/s appt on Mon and another with my specialist on Wed. I think he wanted my DH to be able to attend my u/s's, but of course also the funeral as well. He also told DH that he wanted the family to split up on 2 flights, that way if anything happened I wouldn't be left alone to care for the triplets. Talk about waterworks... I was bawling. Well I know you've been busy yourself, and I really hope you have a good weekend. I'm looking forward to sharing good news on Monday about seeing all three heartbeats (hopefully!!!!!!!!!!!!)!

Re: Excited to Join this Community - A Recent IF Grad

Hi there Kari so glad to hear you and the triplets are doing well.Monday is just a few days away YAY.I was reading your post about telling your friends this evening.I was wondering when is it time to start sharing the news with people?Of course we told our parents.I told my BF but thats it we havent even told our siblings.Guess I am still scared at times it doesnt feel real yet.Of course there is the side of paranoia but I guess thats natural after all we have been through right? So sorry to hear about DH's grandfather I know its hard no matter how old they are.DH lost his grandma a few months back and he was devastated cause he had such a great relationship with her. That was also very sweet of your FIL to plan the funneral around your u/s's.Ok sorry I am not trying to hijack your thread.Ok well enjoy your night out with the girls cant wait to hear how they reacted.Take care.

Eva
