October Mommies Part 1 Thread

Just wanted to say hi to all the October Mommies - I hope that everyone is doing well!!!!

Am now at the 23 1/2 week mark. I have my next appointment with maternal-fetal med on Thursday. They are supposed to do a transvaginal u/s to check the cervix to see if there's an increased risk for premature labor. I don't know if this is a multiples thing or something routine. I'm really hoping that one of these future u/s may be in 3-D, I think that would be so neat. Aside from that, I am really growing at this point. I guess the two girls really need their own space now and have started to spread apart!

I hope that everyone is feeling well!!!

Re: October Mommies (new) Thread

Hi Kel,

Thanks for starting a new thread, this should take us through the summer! I am 26 wks today.

I bought a belly / back brace on Saturday at BRU, and thus far it has been the best $30 investment I've made (oh, in addition to the $10k-$15k IVF investment of course which got me pg). Seriously if any of you have back pain, I HIGHLY recommend getting one. It was instant relief when I tried it on in the store, and all day yesterday & today it has totally been noticiably better. No back pain. Awesome, I'm in heaven.

Oh, and we finished the nursery walls yesterday and starting moving in furniture, soooo cute!

Hope you are all taking it easy.

Hi everyone, I don't get chance to call in very often but great to see your updates! DH didn't want to know the sex, so I've gone along with that. We did however find out that the baby is huge - in the 97th centile! All is well, and I'm feeling lots of movement. Hope everyone is enjoying this all as much as I am.

I just got in from my 3hr glucose test and the nurse told me she didn't think I had a sugar problem my last reading was a 56 and I was really sick almost to the point of passing out I told her I was feel faint the 2nd time she drew the blood.
I go to the specialist Monday. Praying everything goes well there.

Re: October Mommies (new) Thread

Hey all! I had my sonogram on Wednesday and he is definitely a Boy. So we are very excited. I was exactly 26 weeks and he was measuring 2 lbs 2 ounces and 13. 85 inches - the doctor said that was great. But does it seem big or little to anyone else? AND the main thing I was worrying about... I didn't loose anymore weight!!! Yay! I was so excited I went to work and ate cherry cobbler and vanilla ice cream... lol. Oh and, I got my glucose stuff for the test, which I have to do next appointment - in 4 weeks. Then I go every 2 weeks. I can't believe it's going by so fast!!

Oh yea - I work at a daycare for hospital staff in the infant room. Many of our parents are older and have decided to just have one child, so I have had MANY parents ask if I want their child's stuff that they have outgrown already. My nursery is quickly filling up. I don't think my little boy will ever wear the clothes that he already has piling up in the room!!!

Re: October Mommies (new) Thread

We hit a major milestone last evening. I had been a little nervous during the day b/c I didn't feel our little guy moving around, but last nite, after I settled down on the couch, he got very active. It was the first time that DH could actually put his hand on my belly and feel him move! It was so neat. Anyway, that is my big news for now. Can you tell this is our first pregnancy?? LOL Hope everyone is doing well....time is really flying by!

Re: October Mommies (new) Thread

Junebug - It's my first pregnancy too. I am so excited that your hubby got to feel the baby. My husband is so excited when he feels our little boy moving. I think it made it much more exciting. Now every night he kisses my tummy and tells him goodnight and then puts his hand on my tummy. Most nights our little one will "tell" him goodnight by kicking or punching his hand It's the cutest thing!

Re: October Mommies (new) Thread

that is too cute junebug & forgetmenot. I love it when DH can feel my little guy move. I'm usually in a fortress of pillows at night, but sometimes I've moved them away and DH puts his hand on my belly and it's so sweet.

Is anyone thinking about getting those 4-D sonograms from a private clinic? DH & I were looking it up, only about $150 and the pictures are soooo good and you can totally see your baby's face. I think we are going to do it. You can have up to 10 people in the room. I'm not sure if I want to invite all my family with me or just keep it as a special thing for just me & DH, then share pics with family after.

I'm 27 wks tomorrow - which I think is the beginning of the THIRD trimester! wow, flying by and loving every minute of it!!

Re: October Mommies (new) Thread

Well I am 24 weeks and 2days now and getting big.
I went to the specialist today for another ultrasound and he said all was fine he double checked all the organs and they are all working like they are suppose to. She measure to her due date the last time (4weeks ago) she was a week behing. She alittle more than doubled her weight in the 4weeks she was 9 ozs now she is 1lb 5ozs. She is still laying sideways insted of up and down but I don't care how she is laying in there just as long as she is healthy.
When I got ready to leave the nurse asked if I need to come back and he said no that she looked good and would be fine then he thaught about it for a second and asked me if I would mind coming back every 4 weeks just to monitor her growth and of course I have no problem coming back.
SO with the dr's attitude it made me feel so much better he's not worried at all why should I be stressing so much now maybe I can sit back and enjoy just being pregnant and looking forward to meeting our little girl.

Hope everyone is still doing good.

Re: October Mommies (new) Thread

Kelley, just checking in to see how things went with your appointment... If I'm not mistaken I think you may have had in within the last few days! Looking forward to your update!

JD, I think those 4D sonograms sound very cool... I'm sure I see myself pushing DH to fork over the money for one of those some day down the line Congrats on hitting the 3rd trimester! What a huge fun milestone!!!

Lizzie my friend, glad to see your post! Sounds like your little baby is a very healthy one! Hope you are continuing to feel really good. I'll be looking for your updates as often as you can post 'em!!!

All other Oct mommies, hope you and your little ones are well!
