weight gain

im 28 weeks and so far have gained 29 pounds. is this a lot? i feel like since i have 12 more weeks left im gonna end up gaining way too much. i dont wanna be one of those people that gain like 70 pounds, i would like to not go over 40.

Re: weight gain

Your weight gain all depends on your own situation. It's hard to know what is good for you without knowing your body frame, height and starting weight. My doctor actually told me with this pregnancy how much she expected me to gain. With my ds I gained 40lbs. and I felt like that was too much for me but for others its perfect. Hope that helps!

Re: weight gain

Wow, skinny minnie, must be nice...LOL! I would say that to begin with you were underweight so you may end up gaining more than a person of average weight or or one who is overweight. The best thing to do is check with your doctor but I would say you're fine!

Re: weight gain

Yeah, check with your doctor they will definitely tell you whether you are doing ok as far as weight goes or not. I just asked mine this week because I am 28 weeks and have only gained 14 pounds so far. I felt like I had gained more than this during my last pregnancy by 28 weeks. I gained a total of 26 pounds with my first daughter and was happy with that. So this time I was worried I wasn't gaining enough. He told me I was doing just fine and everything was measuring right on target etc. so not to worry. I agree, you were pretty tiny to begin with so I wouldn't worry if you gain a little more than the "normal" suggested amount that you read.
