I keep feeling like my uterus is hardening up....sometimes it feels like I can't walk with my back straight up...but it doesn't hurt...it's just extremely hard....
are this braxton hicks contractions......or what is going on?
I would totaly say they are Braxton Hicks. I get them too! @ 27 weeks its really common!

ive been having this since about 20-22 wks i dont remember exactly when it started. it feels like your stomach is so tight that when you stand straight its like a rubber band is snapping you back over. idk what it is. i guess its probably just braxton hicks contractions but whatever it is its normal im 30 wks now and it still happens. it seems to happen mostly when im too hot or after i eat a big meal. drinking a lot of water usually will help but it is annoying especially when your out in public and have to walk hunched over.
yeah, I would say its a bit embarrassing walking all huntched over....but atleast I know that this is normal. I kept thinking maybe I was going to be going into earlier labor or something...I have no idea, since this is my first time having a baby.
I found out I am having a baby girl. Her name is Olivia Honor.
this is my first too and i also thought i was going into labor early. being pregnant for the first time is terrifying. there are so many things that happen that no one tells you about and its hard to tell when a pain is normal or something is wrong. premature labor was something i worried about constantly. it does get easier when your farther along and you are at the stage where if your baby was born it would have a good chance to live. im 30 wks now and knowing that my baby would have an excellent chance of survival if he needed to be taken out really makes me feel better. congrats on the little girl thats a really pretty name. im having a boy his names gonna be ashton joseph
I feel the same as all of you first timers. In fact I read this post because my uterus is really hard right now! And it seems to do this especially at night, or after meals. I'm 28 wks, and I agree with sg117, that the farther I get into pg, the more confident I feel that my baby has chances of survival if delivered early.
I too have worried about premature labor - because I'm taking on way too much for a pg woman - too much stress, even though I "try" to control it.
I work full time at a higly professional, high pressure job and I am going to school for my MBA. Almost no down time -but I can't convince myself to quite either one.
Yep, those are BH. Your uterus has been contracting all along, but you're just now feeling it because your uterus is contracting hard enough (and you're big enough now to touch your abdominal wall) to make your nerve endings feel it. Those are all practice contractions. Fun, huh?
