Teach, well I was thinking of you today! Exactly one week from now and hopefully we will find out the genders of your little babies!!! I'm sure you are looking forward to it and counting down the days! Can you believe that it will be August just one week from today???!!!??? Oh my gosh you are going to be preparing for back to school in no time!
Tam, I too have not felt any BH, but I think it'd be a tad early for me anyway. How is everything else going for you?
Hansen, how are you feeling? Hope you've been able to get some rest the last couple of days. I really look forward to hearing that the specialist will have some pain remedies in store for you!
I'm feeling a little bit better today. I was free of the headache on Tues and Wed and thought maybe I was in the clear with those things, then it returned with a vengeance yesterday! I had a mild one this afternoon and took like a three hour nap... the headache is gone, but now I have that "hungover" feeling from sleeping too much during the day! At my doctor appointment yesterday, some urine test showed I was a bit dehydrated. I don't really know what the test is called, but my nurse said the best result is 105 and the worst is 130 and I was at 120. It's funny too, cause I really drink a ton of water every day... never go anywhere without my water bottle, so I found it interesting I was told I have to drink more water! So I'm drinking like a fish, trying to keep my babies healthy! Oh and I was told yesterday that they will start measuring my cervix now at every appt to check for signs of dilation. And I think I will start the home uterine monitoring for contractions in 4 weeks. I'm really looking forward to that as I'm already nervous about the preterm labor stuff. Ok, well that's my long update. Hope all of the December moms are doing well!
It's so great to read your update on you and the babies. It's kind of like you're pregnant on speed. already checking dilation? they haven't even checked me once and I'm nearly 30 weeks.
Funny about the dehydration - but very important.
I'm sorry you are having such terrible headaches. Hopefully its just a phase of your pg and will pass soon. Just in time for the next odd thing your body or babies throw your way. We all get something or another in pg.
Take it easy and enjoy your dh, just the 2 of you, while you can!!
Kari I also have horrible headaches. I've had migraines since I've been little and just taking a Tylenol doesn't even phase me. I guess the best thing for it is sleeping it off minus the hangover feeling. =( Sometimes a natural tea works wonders. The dehydration does seem a bit odd if you drink lots of water! I hope that works itself out.
I'm at 21wks and have felt only a few BH's. Luckily it isn't painful whatsoever just a bit uncomfortable for a few minutes. My uterus is laying firmly on my sciatic nerve and I'm having tons of problems with moving/bending the wrong way and electric shooting down my right side. It happens the worst when I'm laying on my side and then try to get up like I would before I got bigger. The slightest bit of pressure at the right angle is torture. My round ligament pain is still continuing. My doctor said it hits some ladies between weeks 16-20 and tends to ease up but it's very possible to keep the steady pains throughout most of my pregnancy. I dreaded hearing that. I just feel a constant pull and pressure on my sides. Everything else is good. Little Bella has a strong heartbeat and is good as far as growing on schedule. =) Dizzy spells are driving me nuts. It's a bit scary when you think you could pass out at any second. My veins in my legs and feet are popping out and swelling comes and goes. Anyone else having this?!?!
I just wanted to update a little and wonder if any of you ladies are experiencing any of this since we're all so close in due dates. It's just nice to know you're not the only one going through these things.
I look forward to reading everyones updates. I'll be on more often and checking updates regularly. I'm so excited to be following everyone! =)
Once again as always, Congratulations Mommies
Kari sorry to hear you are battling those awful headaches again.Hang in there though.Hope you start feeling better soon.It is weird that you are dehydrated just goes to show how much these babies take out fo us and considering you have 3 I can imagine.Take care of yourself and glad to hear all is well with you and the trips.
JD, Very good to hear from you! And oh my gosh I was laughing hysterically about your comment being pregnant on speed I just had to share that with DH.
Crossing, I couldn't imagine how bad these headaches would be if I had prior history of migraines. I just hope they don't continue post pregnancy! As for dizziness, I haven't experienced that (I imagine it must get a bit scary). I do get pains when bending or twisting but not like you described. Is there a chance the weight could shift away from your sciatic nerve? I hope it feels better. And glad to hear Bella is doing well!
Eva, I hope the headaches go away too... they seem to be getting worse unfortunately. But I can handle it for my babies You have a good point about how much these babies take out of us. I'm sure that's why I'm on the dehydrated side, and I'm sure that is why your babies already seem to be growing nice and strong even tho you say you haven't put on that much weight! Well I know we both don't mind the extra food and drink... It's all for our little ones! Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a good trip if you don't get online before you leave!
Well...I feel I have been gone forever. We just got back tonight!! I just realized that on Wed. I will be 18 weeks, which technically with twins that is the halfway mark!! I'm still doing well, however we did a lot of walking this weekend and I could really tell. I am exhausted and ready to relax for a couple of days. I think I am feeling the BH, not sure though. I am going to ask my OB when we go on Friday. Oh and my boobs are getting huge!!! (Ok not huge because I was really small before, but huge for me!! ) I had to buy new bras this weekend!!
Kari-I am sooooo excited about finding out the gender of my babies! I am also very anxious to see them. As you recall, I haven't seen them in 9 weeks!! I'm sure they will look huge to me!! I am so sorry you are having the bad headaches. I wonder if it has to do with you being dehydrated. I know I have read that if you have a headache during pg. you should drink a glass of water before you try tylenol..etc. I was going to let you know that my OB checked my cervix at my last appt. He said it was nice and high and thick just like it should be. He also said he would check it at every appt.
Well, Dec. mommies I hope everyone is doing well!!
Kari - came on here to see how you're doing. Sorry to hear that you've been having bad headaches... as a migraine sufferer I know how awful those can be!! Glad to know you've had some days of respite in between. Love to your trips
Teach - I remember when you got your bfp over on the IF board. Cannot believe it is already time to find out your babies' gender time flies!!!... Good luck and will be looking out for your update.
Kari I am so sorry that you are suffering with headaches and that they are getting worse and not better, but like you said you will handle it for the babies. Try and get plenty of rest and drink lots of water.
Teach wow your appointment will be here so soon and you will get to see what they are. Soooooooo exciting. I am sure your little ones are doing perfectly, I cannot wait for you update.
Hi Teach! Well just a few days now and you'll know what colors you'll be seeing at your baby shower!!! I really do think they'll be able to tell you the gender unless you have a shy baby in there keeping their legs crossed! Cobgrats on hitting the halfway mark... a great milestone my friend! Any more feelings of movement? Hope you've managed to get some rest since you've been home.
Hi Hazel! Thx for stopping by! Hope you are feeling well and baby is good!
Hey Char! Well I have definitely upped my water intake. I don't think dehydration has been a cause of the headaches. I'm starting to think they may be sinus related. I've had congestion and a runny nose for the last 8 weeks or so. I hear that happens with pregnancy. My doc told me today I could take sudafed so I did. Not sure if it was the sudafed or the Tylenol which I also took but I did feel much better this afternoon! Well I hope you are having a good morning!
I went today and registered for my shower. It was nice cause a friend took me, who has three kids including twins. It just overwhelmed me realizing how much I still must learn when it comes to caring for a baby! But I'm certainly up for the challenge... Just praying they start out healthy!
Kari - Hi! I am so sorry that you've been getting headaches! I'm glad the sudafed and tylenol helped. I had pretty bad headaches for a couple of weeks a while back - I can't remember how far along I was, but they did go away - and I think you're right -- dehydration probably plays a big role. Especially as warm as it is out by you. How have you been doing otherwise? That's great that you've registered for your shower! That must have been so exciting! I swear, DH and I better get out butts in gear -- we don't have much longer to go now and we haven't done any preparation yet, or registered - we'll be in fast gear pretty soon, I hope :-P!
Teach - I'll be anxious to hear about your appointment!!!!!
Tam - My cervix measurement was 36 mm - Aside from that, I don't know anything else, just that the doctor said that it looked fine. All these measurements and numbers...
Sorry I haven't been around much lately, we've got some non-pg things going on and I haven't been able to get online for a long time. But I think of you all everyday!!!!! I hope all the Dec moms are doing well!!
Kari dear, just wanted to check on you here on the "other side". Sorry to hear you are having headaches, but I bet its still a lovelly feeling to rub that belly. Glad to hear babies are doing great and finally you get ready for your babyshower.
Sorry I havent been here to cheer you on, and the rest of my IF sisters, I love you all dearly and am happy for you when you reach your milestones, but everythime I come here I cant stay longer enough to get to post, because I get chocked with IF tears, that all this pregnancy related joys will never happen to me. But you all know what I mean, and I thank you all for checking in on us.
Hello my Ladies. Had my specialist appointment yesterday and I learned alot.
well.....It is a GIRL!!!! Her name will be Elora Catherine!
During the ultrasound, they found a bright spot in her heart that they said could be a weak marker for down syndrome and that it is nothing to worry about. My DH and I came right home and looked it up on the internet, it is called Echogenic Cardiac Focus. Basically all it is is a build up of calcium in the heart and it just means that she has twice the chance of having downs but chances are that she won't. It doesn't worry me at all, everything else is healthy so that was great. They estimated that she weighs about 9 ounces.
My meeting with the PN was LONG but I got alot out of it. She gave me a list of things to discuss with my regular doctor like things to keep an eye on closely. And also talk to them and see if this is something that they would be able to handle being that they aren't a large hospital. If they can't, I am going to make the final decision as where to deliver and where I feel most comfortable. She is going to fax a list of pain medications that she says are ok to my Pain Management specialist so that I can get back on those. I feel like something was actually accomplished and felt like finally someone was really listening to me and cared!!
Kari - Sorry to hear about your headaches! I have been getting them occasionally but definetly not like yours. I sure hope that these will fade and you will start to feel better. I have finally felt some movement in the last 5 days. Now I can tell when she (it's so weird to say she lol) kicks and like moves alot, it is pretty neat! Other than your headaches, hope that the 4 of you are doing well!! How exciting to have done your registry, now that we know its a girl, we are talking about all that stuff now.
Tam - not sure how long my cervix was but all they said was that it was long and closed, next time I will be sure to check so that I can let you know and hopefully give you some relief.
Teach - How are you and the twins doing? Good I hope. That is good that you got a chance to get away and have a vacation but I understand the exhaustion. I have a cold right now and everything I do I feel like I am ready to fall asleep. On the way home from the specialists yesterday, I fell alseep in the car. I NEVER sleep in cars! Hope that the 3 of you are doing well!
Crossing - How wonderful about your little Bella! So far, 2 girls on this board. Can't wait to find out (for those who are finding out) what everyone else is having!!
Well, I had a little bit of a scare (yes, babies and I are fine) However, my drs. office called today and said they would have to reschedule my u/s for aug. 14th. I was like, that's 2 weeks away!! Well, I let them know that was not an option. Long story short, I got a little crabby with the lady and they called me back and said I could keep my appt. Thank goodness!!! 18 weeks today!!! Great feeling there. I am having a new symptom. Hopefully this is not TMI, but I am already leaking some clear liquid. Is anyone else doing this? It's not that bad, I just didn't think this was going to happen so early!!
Hansen-I am so excited that you are having a girl. I have this feeling that my twins are 2 girls. Guess we will find out Friday!!! I'm glad you finally got some answers and hopefully they will help!!!
Kari-I feel the babies some, but not a lot right now. Hopefully that will change soon. Well, I hope your headaches are getting better!!! Oh, and I finally bought that book today. I will start reading it tonight!!!
