insulin and induction

i was put on a small dose of insulin 3 times a day today. i really didnt think i was going to be able to stick myself with a needle like that so i closed my eyes and did it and the needle was all the way in and i hadnt even felt it touch me. it didnt hurt at all. so much easier then i had thought it was gonna be. my ob told me yesterday that if the endo put me on insulin today i would start having frequent ultrasounds and non stress tests done. when i go for my 34 wk appt on the 13th i guess ill get all that stuff set up. he also said if i was put on insulin i would probably be induced around 37-38 wks so only 5-6 more weeks bein pregnant then ill have my little boy here has anyone else been put on insulin? did everything go ok for you? i dont like putting medicines and stuff like this in me. it makes me really nervous im always scared im gonna have a bad reaction from it so im just lookin for some reassurance from someone who has done this before to see if it went ok for them.

Re: insulin and induction

You don't have to worry about insulin being considered a medication in the traditional sense. It's made naturally in your body, whereas most medications are adding a substance to your body, insulin is replacing or supplementing a hormone already in your body. REMOVED
