Ugh! My normally clear skin is such a mess! It's not even my face so much, as my neck, shoulders and back. Does anyone have any skin care tips to help clear up blemishes while pregnant?

Is it ok to use salylic acid?

This happened to me too. My doctor said NO to salycilic acid, but that benzyol peroxide in small doses was fine. I use Proactiv now and it totally cleared my skin up.

I've heard varying degrees of caution with these skin products from all my friends' different doctors, so I'm sure you'll get a lot of conflicting advice here, too. I would call your doctor and she what he or she says so that you have the right information for your case.

I talked to my OB today. He said to stay away from the Salylic acid b/c its aspirin based and theoretically could cause bleeding. He said small amounts of benzoyl peroxide are ok, so guess I'll try that

i had this problem with my back when i first got pregnant. its so nasty. luckily for me though it cleared up on its own shortly after i started my 2nd trimester. i dont know how far you are but maybe yours will go away too. i do however still have acne scars on my back now from where they were but i guess that will all fade over time. i had acne on my face before i got pregnant and now its pretty much cleared up and i didnt use any type of product. i kept forgetting to ask the dr what i could use and i didnt want to do anything without talking to him first but i put it off so long that it just went away. try not to mess with it like dont pick at it or anything i think thats why i have the scars on my back now cuz i wouldnt leave it alone.
