From what I remember they just do an internal exam, and check your episiotomy if you had one. Then they do the whole birth control talk if you are interested in starting on that. I don't really think there is much else to it. Oh, I think they also asked about how the delivery went, if there were complications, how big the baby was etc. I think that is pretty much what you can expect! Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I did not have any tearing down "there" and my Dr. delivered the baby so she has all the info. on the birth. Does she still need to do an internal, even though I had no complications w/ anything?
I think they said it is necessary to make sure your uterus has went back to it's normal size. Again, I could be wrong, but I think that was the reasoning. They didn't give me an option so I assume it was necessary.

Well, everything went good. Dr. talked a lot about how my moods were, BC methods we wanted to use, BP was 120 over 66- very good! I did not need a pap done, my last was 12/2007, so not even a year yet.
She felt my tummy and did a quick internal exam, everything back to normal.Iron was checked. It was at 13.5 or something, so no need to keep taking my extra iron tablet, just a multi vitamin now is needed.
She wanted to give me a new vaccine for tetnus and whooping cough, but they are out. Anyone heard of this and gotten it yet??
i know your supposed to get a tetnus shot every 10 yrs so if its been longer then that maybe thats why they want you to have another. i had my last one when i was 13 and was told i wouldnt need another til i was 23 or i got cut real bad.
I might add that after I gave birth, the placenta did not come out until 20 min. or so and was given a shot because of this... I have no idea what this shot may have been??
I am not sure about the shots. My doctor didn't do that. However, I bet if you call and ask they'd be happy to tell you. I've never heard of that before, but it doesn't mean that it doesn't happen.
