Well I had my check up this morning. I gained another 2 pounds since last week. That makes a total of 4 pounds gained this whole pregnancy. She is still head down and now in position. She is about 3 pounds right now. still about a cm dialated and starting to efface.
I saw my doc this morning too. My glucose test results were good, and I'm not anemic
I'm up to 121 which means I've gained 16 lbs total so far. Everything is looking great! From now on I have to go in every 2 weeks...that means I'm getting closer to d-day!
Well, since my last post a lot has happened. The day after I saw my dr I was admitted to the hospital because I was having contractions. I was there for 3 days on IV meds, and they finally let me come home on Monday. I'm on oral meds every 4 hours around the clock and bed rest until at least 35 weeks (which is the 12th of December, not like I'm counting or anything)
This was totally unexpected and just goes to show that no matter how much you plan things to go a certain way, sometimes mother nature has other plans! This is proving to be a big challenge....it turns out laying around at home all day is not as glamorous as it sounds. I'm trying to look at the bright side of things though and keeping in mind that I'm doing this all for my precious little girl. Hopefully I don't go crazy
holy moly! tons of updates! ok so things are going good for me except i had the 1 hour glucose test done a few weeks ago and doc called and said my sugar levels were really high so i have to do the 3 hour glucose test tomorrow morning. maybe im weired but i'm not concerned about it at all. i feel mostly rolling now. i have alot of pressure on my vagina, i dont know if i should be concerned about it or not. i have an appt today so i hope i can get doc to be quiet for a few minutes so i can ask questions this time! i had 2 menstural cramps this morning i dont know if thats normal or not either. it was a bad pain! i cant wait to have him but i know its still early. i am going to have another 3D ultrasound in 1 more week! i love seeing him! so i hope all is well with everyone and i will post another update later today! mandy
heres my update. my doc said he is going to induce me on december 22nd! i will be 37 weeks. he said that the date will stay unless something comes up. like babys not ready or hes still breach or something like that. yes hes head up and feet down! it feels like hes kickin a hole to china! when i was 20 weeks doc said no intercourse and now he gave me the go ahead at 34 weeks. he said it might irritate my cervix good enough for induction. i hope it works. i will talk to y'all soon, mandy
Wow, I can't believe everything that has been going on with us all. It looks like I might be the only one to actually make it to January! lol.
Mandy - Why are you being induced? I'm just curious. I'm new to this whole pregnancy thing and always thought being induced was always a last minute decision for health reasons. Also maybe if it's a good reason I'll try and talk my doctor into it.
One thing that I do wonder about, I have yet to gain weight throughout this all. I'm down 6 pounds from the start. The doctor hasn't said a thing about it. I'm overweight anyway, so I don't worry about it too much as long as the doctor continues to say the baby is healthy. I just figured by 7 months though I'd be looking at some kind of gain.
I saw my doc yesterday as well and she said I have to stay on bed rest and meds until 36 weeks. That is December 19th, and yes, I'm counting down the days! The contractions come and go, but really just feel like Braxton-Hicks most of the time now.
Dolphin - I think it's ok not to gain much weight if you were overweight to begin with. My friend was overweight when she got pregnant and she only ended up gaining 3 lbs total by the time she delivered at 40 weeks. I'm sure your doc is not worried or he/she would have said something by now
Mandy, I'm not having any problems so much, but I really wish that I could have this baby around December 21-22 too. I'm due January 26 though so that would be pushing it a bit. But as far as getting more time off, I'd get more time off!
I just wanted to update you all of my pregnancy. I went for the 1 hour glucose test last week and called today for the results. It was 85!!! I am so happy! I don't have to do the 3-hour test!! With my other two pregnancies, it came back high and I had to do the 3-hour test, so I was a bit concerned whether or not I'd have to this time or not.
The baby is moving and kicking just fine! When I was at the doc last week, the hearbeat was 147.
Now if I could just get my cholesterol down, I'd be really happy!!
I wanted to add that they found white cells in my urine sample so they sent that off to be cultured and I have a bladder infection. I have to pick up the Rx tonight after work. Weird thing is I felt fine until the day before my appointment last week, I just had a dull pain right above my hairline (down there)... but I just thought it was from running at lunch time. I hadn't had any other type of symptoms. When the doc asked, I just said no. Then afterwards, when I had to go to the bathroom, I realized that I probably did have an infection because it did hurt when my bladder was full and it burned a little bit, plus a funky kind of smell. I hope that isn't TMI! So anyway, I'm getting a Rx tonight for that and hoping everything else works out.
Ok, so I had another check up today. Gotta love the going every 2 weeks! I passed my sugar test, woohoo! Maybe she'll stop calling me diabetic now. Anyway, I've yet to gain a pound so they did an ultrasound just to be sure the baby is doing alright, or maybe it was just to put me at ease of what he looks like, but he is measuring 2 weeks further along that what I'm actually due. So does that mean he is more likely to come a little early? My doc said as long as I make it to 34 weeks she'll have no worries. 34 weeks is Dec. 8th. That's the scariest thing ever. I'm not ready for this child. I hope he comes a lot closer to his due date, but just the thought that he could be here that quickly is just mind boggling.
I hope everyone else is doing well and hanging in there!
Went to the doc yesterday and got some good news! She said that since the Nifedipine is working well as far as keeping my contractions to a minimum that I can try to increase my activity a little bit. My cervix is not dilated, which is another really good sign. She said if I was dilating at all she would never let me ease up on my bed rest, so I'm very thankful. She warned me to be very cautious not to do too much, just a little bit of light activity a couple times a day. But that's good enough for me! I'm so excited to have a little bit of freedom back. Hooray!
ok so i found out last monday that i have gestational diabetes!! its not that high so my doc put me on the pills to take for it! i feel like everything that can go wrong will go wrong with this pregnancy! i am still thinkin about geting my tubes tied! i cry for no reason now which drives me crazy! i cant freakin wait to have him already!
Ok sorry ladies I have been gone for a while. I have been in and out of labor and delivery. I thought my water was leaking last week. I am now at 34 weeks and have gained a total of 5 pounds. Ava looks good. She is pushing down on me more and more every day. I go back for another check up on Monday. I will be stopping my meds in 2 weeks and will see what happens.
well i cant believe how i gained in the past 2 weeks.....6 pounds . her heart rate is excellent it was 132 and then she took the dopplar off and then ava moved around a bunch and then she put it back on and it was 168. They didnt check for dialation but will next time. I will have my GBS test done next time. I was positive last time for it so I am wondering about this time. I can start to wean off of my meds next week when I hit 36 weeks. And then we will see when she makes her grand appearance.
