Kari

Hi Kari, thank you for taking your time to give me some advise on triplets. I was really surprised on Sunday when I found out there were 3. Like I said I had 2 embryos transfered and was expecting to have one or twins but never triplets. At first I was in shock but then everything sunk in and I started to cry, I was happy the babies were fine but felt very overwhelmed about triplets. I'm extremely nervous that I'll have a complicated pregnancy and the babies will also have complications. I also cannot help but think way ahead in the future, I'm affraid we will be struggling financially with 3 babies but as long as they are healthy, I think we can work things out. I want to go through this pregnancy not worried about a thing, but I'm already started to stress over it.
Thanks for your help and I hope you soon feel better from your back ache.

Re: December Moms 2008 Pt 4

Hey Solange, I'm more than happy to share my experiences with you as you progress thruout your pregnancy. I've been on these boards for a long time and you are the only other triplet mom to be that I've encountered. My RE has only had 3 triplet pregnancies in the last two years... one of them was also the result of an embryo splitting. Definitely let me know what birth month thread you will be posting your updates on so that I can follow your progress closely. I understand the fears that you are facing right now, especially with the potential of having a complicated pregnancy as that risk is rather high with triplets. It certainly was my biggest fear (and continues to be at 19 weeks along). But honestly there are lots of women who can carry three to 35 weeks with few or even no complications! So far, I've had a pysically painful 2nd trimester (a VERY easy first trimester) but luckily as far as "real" complications go, I've been lucky. Just gotta keep thinking positively. Sadly, other than blogs, there really is not a lot of info on-line about triplet pregnancy. ( removed ) There is also a great book called "When you are expecting Twins, Triplets, or Quads" and I highly recommend reading that as early as possible. Good luck and I can't wait to follow your progress!!!!

Re: December Moms 2008 Pt 4

Kari thank you so much for your input. I've been doing a lot of research on the internet about triplets and I have found some sites which have very good information. Originally my due date was April 20 but I'm sure it will change now with the triplets, but I'm on the April board right now. Tomorrow I have another ultrasound and a prenatal visit with my RE. This will be the first visit since I found out about the triplets on Sunday so I will make sure to ask plenty of questions. I will let you know how it went. Thank you so much for helping me with this, I actually feel a little more relaxed to know that you are experiencing the same thing and that things are going well for you.

Re: Kari

Solange,

On the pregnancy board, you may post questions to others on their proper birth month thread. However, you may not post information/questions/problems about your pregnancy on others birth month threads.

For example: This post was posted in Kari's birth month thread of December and it contains information about your pregnancy. It has nothing to do with December Mommies and very little to do with Kari's pregnancy. Therefore, please a new thread should have been started. I have relocated the post for you to make sure your post receives the attention it deserves.

Thank you for your cooperation and CONGRATULATIONS!!

Re: Kari

Solange, I am anxious to hear how your appointment went/goes today! I don't recall if you were able to see the heartbeats at your last-minute appointment this weekend. But if my calculations are correct you should be nearing the 7 week mark and I imagine you'd be able to get a good look at them today. I'm also wondering if your RE will recommend that you go straight to a Perinatologist or if you will be doing a combined OB/Peri approach. I've seen a Perinatologist exclusively... the OB's where I live generally do not see a triplet pregnancy... at least that's the case with the two that I've had experience with. I'm happy to be seen by a specialist anyway... I've gotten lots of extra special attention with ultrasounds a minimum of every other week! Okay, well I'm looking forward to hearing how it all goes today. Good luck!!!
