I was just wondering if anyone has had a Biophysical Profile? My OB wants me to start having them weekly now and I was reading on the internet about what they involve. I didn't realize it was so much. If you have had one, can you say about how long it took? I feel like I will be living at the hospital. They might as well go ahead and give me a room now and that way when I go into labor, I'll already be there!

Yes, I had two due to preterm labor. It was just like a normal ultrasound; however, they also check movement and whatnot. It didn't hurt and it was fun to see the baby.
Ok, so you wouldn't say it takes any longer than your regular ultrasound then, right? I am not really sure I understand either, what are they checking movement with etc? Just watching it on the screen?

I had an ultrasound at 31w and in the ultrasound report it gave a score (out of 10) for biophysical profile. It was just a regular ultrasound, and lasted less than the one I had at 20w...
Hey Delia!!! I hope everything is going well with this one! I have to have a Biophysical Profile every weeks now too!! If she doesn't cooperate then like this week I have to go a 2nd time for a NST!! So you are not alone!!
Oh really? Are you having complications of any kind? I have never had one, and am nervous about it! I hope it goes well because if it doesn't it's just going to make me even more nervous.
