Re: is there always blood...?

Hey- When I lost my mucus plug with my last preganacy there was no blood in it. It was just like it sounds and white. It was also that way with my first pregancy so I guess to answer the question to the best of my knowledege NO there isn't always blood in it. I would call your doctor and let them know that you think you have lost your mucus plug though. How far along are you?

Re: is there always blood...?

Good question, I'm not sure if your doctor will be able to tell you if that was it or not, but I'd say it probably was (or part of it anyway). It might look like a lot, but I think it's pretty darn big because I was losing mine over about a week (in decent sized pieces) with my first pregnancy. I will tell you though that for me, the biggest piece came (I believe it was the rest of what was left), and I began having painful contractions about 12 hours later. So labor could be close for you! Good luck!
