fifths disease question

Hi all,

I am a special edu preschool teacher and therefore the little munchkins bring any and every kind of germ around me all the time. I found out today that for the last few days I've been exposed to fifths disease. I know this is extremely bad for pregnant women. I am currently 17 weeks.

My question- I remember being exposed during my first pregnancy and having to have blood work done. I believe that when I was tested in my first pregnancy the test came back that I was immune. Does anybody know that if I was immune to fifths disease 2 years ago if I would still be immune today? Or does the immunity wear off? (I have a call in to my doctor to check for sure that I was immune before, but I"m almost positive that I was).

Just wondering if anybody knows so I don't have to worry about it all night. I should hear back from the doc in the morning.

Thanks!
Sarah

Re: fifths disease question

You should be immune for life if you were immune last time. Presumably you had it as a kid.
