Hi everyone,

So sorry to ask but have tried to talk to doc but no-one is free until tomorrow.

I am having really bad problems with constipation. I'm going every other day but it's so painful (there is no way i can see myself having a natural birth!). Sorry - TMI warning... I have to push so hard - it always comes out half way then I struggle to get it out fully, can't do it, I have to relax and it goes straight back up again - I just keep repeating the same cycle over and over until I give up.

Is anyone else having similar problems?

There are stool softeners you can try (OTC) and they seem to help pretty well. Also, I put Benefiber in my juice--you can't taste it--and that also seems to make a difference. It's no fun--I hear you--but those two things have helped me in these last few weeks... As if things aren't already so crowded in there!

Yep, happens to everyone, just about. Get some OTC fiber tablets. Do not take anything with a laxative in it, though.

I've found that eating dried fruit, like raisins and apricots is particularly helpful. Avoid cheese and many dairy products or just have them sparingly. Many of the Kashi cereals have lots of fiber and taste good, too.

I've also found, since I've had a hemmroidectomy, that if you have to strain your body isn't ready to go yet. Give it a little time. It WILL come out eventually.

My Doctor gave me something to take everyday to make me go...I took them for two days and ended up all night in severe pain...Almost had to go to the hospital...They Did work tho...but there was no way I could take them again...Not worth it...! I just go when I can go...LOL
