Colace Safe?

Does anyone know if there are any problems with taking Colace S/S long term during pregnancy? A few weeks ago a Dr I saw suggested taking that and Metimucil for my chronic constipation. I'm just wonder how long is it ok to take it and I won't be back to see the Dr for a few weeks. I'm still constipated, but there's not as much pushing.

I eat steel cut oats every morning, practically no processesed carbs (only whole grains), a good amt of meat and some fruit/vegetables. I'm on a low glycemic diet, so I can't eat dried prunes. I drink lots of water, but the Dr said that didn't matter.

Any other suggestions?

Re: Colace Safe?

Ahhh, constipation, just one of the not so glamorous stuff, pregnancy offers.
Colace is in the safe list for constipation. I take a prenatal vitamin that comes with a stool softener. Still, I dont go regularly and constipate when I do. Drinking too much water also causes my stomach to excrete more gastric juices hence, my heartburn

Hang in there!
