Exclamation worried sick, no visible stomach....

So I just had my level 2 ultra sound, I am 21 weeks with my second child (another girl) and on the ultrasound the tech could not see the baby's stomach. She asked if I had eaten recently, I had 2 hours earlier, and said sometimes if you don't eat enough they can't see the baby's stomach. I didn't think to much of it. I saw the doctor after and he reviewed my file, all the tests came back normal (I had that new early screening at 3 months)and the rest of the ultrasound was good. He said to come back in 4 weeks and they will do another ultrasound. He said, "she didn't see the stomach, we knows it's there we just want to make sure it's in the right spot" and he laughed. But now I am worried, I looked online about not seeing the stomach on ultrasound and it can mean some pretty serious problems.
Has anyone heard of this? Has anyone had an ultrasound and didn't see the stomach and what was the outcome?

I plan on calling first thing in the morning and demanding some answers and an earlier ultrasound, there is no way I can wait 4 weeks....augh
Thanks

Re: worried sick, no visible stomach....

I think your doctor was just being funny with you, and forgot to take into consideration a pregnant woman's nature to read far too much into any situation. I'm sure not seeing the baby's stomach can mean a lot of serious things, but if your doctor had any notion of this being the case, then I'm sure he would have scheduled a more in depth look a lot sooner then your next monthly appointment. My guess is you are going to get there and everything will be just fine. Good luck to you!
