High protein in urine, normal bp

Has anyone experienced this or heard/read of this?

I have had high levels of protein in my urine for the past three weeks. They sent it out to culture for a UTI and it came back negative.

Now, the doctor is a little more worried as the level has increased to a +3, but my blood pressure remains normal (always below 120/80 actually). I've got a decent amount of swelling in my ankles, feet and especially my hands. My fingers actually get sore and stiff in the morning.

I'm now taking the 24 hour urine sample test....

Just kind of perplexed. Wondering what else this could be if not preeclamsia ???

Re: High protein in urine, normal bp

Hi,

You can have some of the symptoms of Pre -Eclampsia but not all. In my case they built slowly, so it is wise to keep being checked and let the doctors do their thing.

I started with the High Blood pressure but no protein in the urine, I never had pains under my ribs, but did have some funny spots in my vision. My hands only swelled a little, nothing too bad.

Keep a good team around you, I am not saying you have pre eclampsia but if you are checked regularly then doctors will work out whats going on.

Most of all, try to keep your stress levels down and don't worry about it. (which is easy to say and difficult to do)

I've been there and have a beautiful 2yr old now! Ask if your worried
