Congratulations on being pregnant! Your first trimester is the most crucial! Up throught week 12. and then i hear the 4th and 5th can be just as crucial but not as. I haven't quite made it past 12 wks. so be careful. Buy the book "what to know when your expecting" it answers lots of questions for mom's to be.
Thanks for responding. Congrats on your pregnancy as well. I just worry about it so much because I don't feel like I'm the most healthy person on the face of the planet.
Another question for you: Did you experience any sort of heart pounding in your first trimester?
Congrats!! <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/dance.gif"> I just wanted to say something quick. Another good book..doesn't have as much medical advice..more a practicle look at preg. and other womens opinions and experiences(which I found most helpful)...The Girlfriends Guide To Pregnancy. I read the other book mentioned in the other post..it was great too but it never answered my real burning questions that you are too afraid to ask your doc!!
Smile, life doesn't last that long.
The Girlfriends Guide To Pregnancy is an awesome book. I have never laughed so hard at times reading it. It is a definite must for a first time mom.
As for your question about M/C, supposedly once you see a heartbeat or hear it on the doppler, chances of miscarriage drop drastically. It goes down to something like 2-3 %. Unfortunately I miscarried after we heard the heartbeat, so I was in that small percentage. Try not to worry. If it happens usually it is because something was wrong with the fetus. I have been worrying this whole time with this pregnancy and I'm 13 weeks now. I am starting to show a little though, and have felt what feels like a little twitch inside from time to time, so I am praying everything is progressing as it should. I haven't been consumed by worry, just it's on my mind. Congratulations on your pregnancy, and I hope it works out.
