I am so happy I found all of you. I have been stressing out all month waiting for a ppt. I am only two days late however, I have been taking tests since 3 dpo, I know I am obsessed, well atleast that is what is my hubby thinks. Anyhow, the other day I thought that there was a faint line so did my hubby but he encourage me not to jump to conclusion and to see the doc. So today I did and low and behold it was -. Is there anyone who has had this happen and waited a few more days and found that you really were pregnant? I was really hoping the test would be + and we could celebrate tonight.
Oh well I guess it was not meant to be.
Did the doc do a blood test or urine? There was another gal who had the urine come back -, but the blood test came back +. If you didn't have a blood test I would make an appt to do that. When I went to the doc I had a very faint line. It is entirely possible you could be! But just do the awful waiting thing and see if AF shows up. I waited about a week until I tested.
Did you have any small spotting when you were due for your AF? Let us know how everything goes o.k.!!

Hi Faith, I did have a similar experience. I started taking home tests 8 days before AF and got a faint line. I went to the student health center on campus for a urine test the day after AF was due and got a negative. I was never late, like clockwork, actually, so I went 2 days later when af still hadn't come to the nurse practitioner at the nursing college (this was all free, is why I did it)and got what we thought was another negative. As she was talking to me, she looked down and realized that there was a second line. She did tell me that the professional tests were usually less sensitive than the OTC tests and it could take a week for some to pick up. Luckily, I tested that time with first morning urine (which has a higher concentration of HCG) or it may not have shown up then. You may want to wait a couple days and try again to be sure!

If they only did a urine test, please request that they do a blood test!!! I just had that happen yesterday!! I went in cause I had hpt that had very faint lines and was late. The NP told me the test was negative (urine test) I asked if they could please do a blood test then since I was 2 weeks late and am NEVER late! So they did and sure enough, it was possitive!!! I know how it feels to be so sure that you are... you feel different have symptoms, then the doctor comes out and says that you are not. <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/dizzy.gif"> It is gut wrenching! We had to wait an hour for the blood test results and I was on the verge of tears the whole time... but it all turned out as a + and I am now very excited and happy and have a story to tell the lil one when they grow up.
Sorry this ended up kinda long... but please if you didn't already... REQUEST THE BLOOD TEST!!!!

When I was pregnant with my 2nd daughter I had what I thought was a negative urine test. I was 3 weeks late and I really didn't think much about it because that is not uncommon for me to be late. I felt sick to my stomach though and had just been informed a friend of mine was pregnant. So, I took a test at the doc's office that I worked at. It was negative, only one line.Well the next morning I went into work and got to thinking about the test. I dug it out of the trash and low and behold it had a faint positive line.
My cousin had that happen to her with an otc test , she thought she wasn't pg but she decided to look at the test a day later and she was positive.
Get a blood test or wait another week and do another urine test with your first morning urine.

Thank-you all for the great advice and forthe warm welcomes I received. It is like I said before really nice to have great people who understand what I am going through. This will be my first pregnancy and I think because we have been trying on and off for a year now I am getting anxious. I am going to call if AF does not come before that on Monday and schedule a blood test. I rather find out earlier than later and relax my mind. Once again thank-you all

i cannot believe how inaccurate the tests can be for some and so on for others. I am calling the doc tommorrow. I am now 3 days late, and sooooooo bloated it is crazy. Other symptoms are things that are in my head I am sure, other than the spotting in the middle of the cycle which I swear was implantation bleeding. Anyhow, like I said thanks for the advice babygrant.
