Hello everyone...I'm gonna start ttc around Jan.15th and I'm trying to sort through the names that I like. I would like to see what you think:
Girls: Boys:
Ariel Caleb
Haven Chandler
Aspen Peyton
Lakelyn Caiden
Brecken Rylan
Endsley Kiran
Paris Holden
Paisley Hayden
London
Brogan
Braelyn
Ariel seems like a girl's name and many connect it with The Little Mermaid so though it sounds nice and goes well with Caleb it does sound female. With the exception of the Caleb part. Just curious but are you planning to conceive in the mountains or outdoors or while in Europe or something because the names are mostly geographic. I like them though. There is a little girl named Peyton at my daughters daycare. I have always been a huge fan of Chandler too. Just don't name your child Paris Hilton!! Like that model!
Sorry, when I posted the names, the columns ran together. It's supposed to be 2 separate columns. I haven't began to put a first and middle name together yet. I love different names. Ones that you don't see alot of. I can't do the REAL COMMON names!!!!! Thanks for your opinions!!!
Hrm .. many of the names you've listed seem like an invitation to other children to make fun of your children as they go through life.
Of those you posted, I like:
Girls - None, really.
Boys - Chandler, Peyton, but I'd probably spell it Payton.
Remember that your kids have to take this name with them through the rest of their lives. They will not always be cute little babies. You don't have to go with Emily and Michael (the number 1 names according to the SSA website), but you might consider names that sound more like people names than place names.
I don't think the names sound like an invitation to be made fun of myself. But that's my opinion, obviously. Actually I thought alot of your names sounded Irish and I really like some of them (i.e., Brogan)...One of the men who worked in my office was named Ariel and he was from Bolivia. I liked just about all of them and when I think of some of the names out there! Whoo! Go with your heart on this one...but I would think about carrying a name into adulthood and the business world. I think all of yours were pretty good...And I'm not arguing with Chelle either. She makes valid points too, but everybody likes different names...Happy hunting! Oh...I kind of like Hunter...maybe? Ah well...back to the drawing board! ;D
Having gone through life with a name that always requires spelling (don't ask me why?), I plan on giving my children names that are spelled the way they sound. I get so annoyed being asked, "Is that Crystal with a "C" or a "K"?
Crystal (with a "C")
I like the name Holden-I am a big Kevin Smith movie fan.(That was one of the characters in his movies) The girls names I don't really care for though-sorry
Good luck in making your decision. That is one thing my husband & I have known for a few years now is the names we want, thank god! I would hate to have to decide now.(my brain is frazzeled enough just from pregnancy )
and crystal-I know what its like to have to spell your name out for people! People always call me carolyn-they seem to add letters when they feel like it! (my name is pronounced Karen)

i too know what you are going through with the confusing names and spellings..... my name is krystal... with a K.. haha
but... my twins are going to be due in a few months.. and im excited! and after a LONG process .. i chose the names... for my son.. Hayden Tyree... and for my daughter... Alexia Diane..... I love those names that you guys have been naming.. I really like Breckon, i have a friend with that name..
I like the names that you chose, I think they are very good names, and very unique..and those are the kind of names I like, I like unusual names, not common, name like Sarah, Elizabeth, Stephanie, Stephen, James, etc...except the one name that I would consider a common name is Lillian I absolutly adore that name...
I guess I also like unusual names because I have a very uncommon name you don't hear very often, Monique is my name it's not something you hear all the time, and I absolutly love my name and wouldn't have it be anything else
I really like all of your choices in names i have a 6 year old son and his name is Leisen it is an irish name no one i know has this name it is unique and believe it or not he even tells me he loves being the only one...
I quite like names that are unusual but like others who have replied I have an unusual name and I get everything under the sun. My name is Lenore and it gets so bad at times that I just respond to anything that starts with an L. On the other hand I love being the only Lenore around and nobody ever confuses me with other people or has to call me Lenore B or Lenore L. I am a teacher and often use their last initial to refer to them because I have two or three student with the same first name. I like Hunter for a girl and Ayden for a boy.
Sorry but I just dont understand the craze for naming kids after places. They might be trendy now but what happens when the baby grows up? Auntie Sydney? Grandma London? Doesn't do anything for me I'm afraid.
Have to agree with you , Laroussi. LOL. Can't imagine being called Auntie Barcelona!
However, Maxie, Lenore is one of the most beautiful names I've ever heard. Reminds me of Poe's poem The Raven. Sounds so feminine and classy! A timeless classic. I also like variations like: Leonora, Lorena, Lorene....
i like irsih-y names my self
my name is melinda and i have only met like 6 people in my life with that name
i am hoping to use an unusal name for my child cause i always thought it was dumb to have a class full of one names... when i was in school it was always
jennifer
everything , even roll call was jennifer A.,jennifer B., jennifer C., jennifer D., etc....
i was gonna use an odd spelling of a name but then when my niece was tellin me that everyone tried to spell her name hailEy instead of haily
i decided against it
I like Ariel myself. Of course hubby and I have already decided if we ever have a daughter her name will be Arielle so I may not be the best person to ask.
