As you may already know, I just recently found out that I'm pregnant (6 weeks).
Right now, I have a real crampy achy feeling. I keep running to the bathroom every 10 minutes because it 'feels' like I've started my period. But, when I get there, its just CM. I don't want to call my dr. because its only a light achy feeling (no severe cramps, bleeding, or spotting) so I'm hoping it's nothing.
I guess my question is, is it normal to feel like your about to start AF at the begining of your pregnancy?
Heaven-Sent, I do think it is normal...everyone talks about the stretching of the uterus to accomodate the growth of the baby. If you aren't even spotting, hopefully that is all it is. And I hope this eases your mind a little, and I know everyone is different...I didn't have cramping when I miscarried. I know many women do, but I did not. I would ALWAYS recommend calling the doc if you have worries and/or concerns, ok? Please keep us updated and I pray that all is well for you and your baby.
Ok Heaven (chicken )
I am responding here to your other post..
This was my first call to the nurse so I am about 6 calls behind you. Let me know if you have other questions and I will call
The nurse said that it is normal. It is just our bodies growing, adjusting, getting ready for bigger things. Some people feel the cramps, some dont. She said as long as there is no bleeding, stabing pain, or fever then we are ok.
How are your other symptoms? I am still not sleeping. I am feeling hungrier but still very full when I eat.
Okay, I feel much better now. My only symptoms is being extremely moody (but according to DH I'm not any different than usual...creep!). My tatas are very very sore. They seem to be getting more sore everyday, and they feel very heavy. I also don't seem to have too much of an appetite. I will crave something, but then when I have it in front of me, I don't want it anymore. It is frustrating, but I'm not complaining!
Thanks again for calling! And your right, I am a chicken sh**! I'll call the next time for us....I promise.
[This message has been edited by HEAVEN-SENT (edited 02-05-2003).]
I'm glad you've sorted this out because I was wondering the same thing. Another problem I'm having is fear of sex! I know it's irrational, but I can't get over the fear that it'll cause a problem. Anyone else having this issue?
Hey there you sweet ladies!! Sex is totally safe and actually pretty enjoyable most of the time as long as your pregnancy isn't a high risk or anything like that. Also towards the end when the water could break if you have sex he must wear a condom because you don't want any of that getting to the baby. Other than that go for it!!
A word of forewarning when you do have sex especially around your second trimester after or during orgasm you may get a "contraction" like feeling. It's o.k. and it does not harm the baby. Also it is possible to bleed a little afterwards too, perfectly normal as long as it is just right after and doesn't stick around!
O.k. I understand your paranoidness - been there done that, but hopefully soon you can realize it is o.k. and go have some fun with your poor dh!! Of course as time progresses you will have to try different positions to accomodate your belly and the way you feel.
God bless,

My doctor told me that sex will not cause a miscarriage and that the reason they tell the high risk patients not to have sex (this is in early pregnancy) is because if the woman has sex and miscarries she will always blame herself no matter what her doctor says.
You will feel so much better when you hit your second trimester. Have you had an appointment yet? I had all of the same worries when I found out I was pregnant. And this is my second child. I don't remember being this worried with my first child. But, I really didn't know everything that I do now about miscarriages and how common they are.
Try not to stress. The rule is if you are not spotting then everthing is OK. And if you are spotting then it still might be OK. I had the CM from day one I think. I hate to tell you that it just gets worse. I am 16 weeks now and wearing a panty liner.
Thank you so much for all you replies.
I haven't had any spotting, so I'm taking that as a good sign. My first ultrasound isn't until March 18th, so I just have to try to keep my sanity until then. In the meantime, I will try not to read into things TOO MUCH!
I keep telling myself not to read anything more either Heaven. It seems that for every pregnancy website you go on, every 7 out of 10 sites are negative. Telling you about what can go wrong and stuff. I don't want to hear that. Haha, I know it's life but it's just I'd rather concentrate on the good stuff. My EDD is 9/21 and I get to hopefully hear the baby's heartbeat on March 8th or so. Get my first U/s at 12 weeks. I'm 7 weeks 5 days today!
I went to my first appointment yesterday and I was told it was perfectily normal....it is just your body getting ready. I also helped me to see the heartbeat and stuff. I"m 8 weeks and still get small cramps every now and then, but they said not to worry so I'm doing my best not to.
