Just another quick question about OPK's. When you tested, was it 4 days after the suggested date on the package that you got a positive? When you got the positive, was the line the same color as the test line?
This is my situation: The package suggested that I start using the OPK on the 19th of Feb. Well, I had AF on the 9th of Feb and began the tests on the 15th. I believe they have all been negative, but when I tested on the 18th and 19th, the result line was negative looking, except for the very beginning of the line and it was darker than the rest(the thickness of the line). I hope this isn't confusing. It was in no way all the same color or all dark for that matter. Please, I hope you can help me on this. I may be jumping to conclusions to early, perhaps. I may not be going to O for a few more days?! What do you think? Renee.
I would buy another box and keep testing. You will get a full line that is darker or the same value as the test line. Good luck to you!
p.s. a monitor might be better in the longrun.

Hey! I think my lines were a little lighter too. I got positives for 2 or 3 days. (As I mentioned before, they measure a hormone present 24-36 hrs before O.) I'd start BD now, to make sure you don't miss it, but keep testing just to make sure, and keep BD. I'm a firm believer that 3 or 4 days worth of BD every night mid cycle is what got me pg. The best I can remember, I got my positives on Oct. 19-20 and the 1st day of LMP was Oct. 8. So if I O'd on the 21 or 22nd, that would have put me at day 13 or 14, right at mid cycle. I can't remember how many days I had tested for sure, but I think it was probably 4 days or so before I got a positive. If you see any bit of a line, I'd go for it, but like I said, keep testing and BD'ing to see if the lines don't get stronger. I hope that makes sense. Good luck!
LOL... I guess my philosophy is you can't have too many of those guys in there. Like I said, if there was the slightest chance I was O'ing soon, I would BD, and then kept it up every day or every other day through mid cycle to be safe!
My main concern is that I have missed O. I sure hope not. After all, this is the 12th day after AF. Hopefully I haven't!!!!! Thanks for the help and quick response.
I think you should be okay. It's probably picking up traces, and you'll have a surge and O sometime in the next few days, since you've been pretty much regular, now's the time. I started BD on day 12 or so, I think. Good luck!

I have a ??. When you say 12 days after AF... are you referring to day 12 in your cycle with day 1 being the first day of AF or the 12 day after AF... so say... your normal AF is about 4 days... so you are actually talking day 16 of the cycle. I get confused on all these days... and I want to understand. Thanks.
The cycle days always start with the first day of AF. So, I started AF on Feb 9th, so that is the first day of my cycle. You count the day you start AF on. So today would be the 12th day of my cycle. Hope this helps!!! Renee.
doc's always count from the 1st day of your period, so when I say I O'd on day 14, that means 1 days after the first day of my last period. I don't know if that helps....
