I was wondering if anyone is having the same problem I am with these horrific leg cramps. I sleep on my sides only.......and it seems like I have to change positions every 20 minutes due to really bad leg cramps.
My question is does anyone have these same problems??? And if so, do you have a remedy.......
So sorry to hear about your terrible leg cramps. The only suggestion I have so far is to stretch your legs out before going to bed. Also one thing I've noticed that helps a little is to rotate your foot in a circle and it seems to get the circulation going and might relieve some of your pain too.
I am sorry I'm not much help, but hopefully you can get some relief by stretching.
God Bless,

I got them when I used to run. I've been told you get them when you are low on potassium. Might I suggest bananas? Hope that helps...also, when they hit me, if I pull my toes towards my shins (usually have to use my hands to help when legs are cramping), they go away. I found I got them when I stretched and pointed my toes. Good luck to you! <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/t_up.gif">
YES You are lacking potassium. Lay off the sodium (soda, salty foods, salt) for a while and up your potassium (bananas as suggested by autumnleaves). This will help....GREATLY! Good Luck!

Baby's Arrival Expected August 2, 2003
My Doc. told me to take a calcium supplement at night for my leg cramps. I have not had a leg cramp since I have started taking Calcium+D. Try this and maybe it can help you too.
Yes, lovelyme......you got me. I eat WAY too much salt!
and defelitely not enough potassium and calcium. I will call the doctor and see if I can take these suppliments......
again, thank you all for just being here........you all don't know how helpful you are. thanks again and God Bless.
hey starbuk! I haven't had the leg cramps, but like you read in my other post, I have had round ligament pain and terrible hip pain. I just wanted to tell you that were due at the same time. I'm due 7/13. I'm dying to have my 20 week ultrasound. How about you?
Take Calcium suppliments. They are perfectly safe and good for the baby. My leg cramps were waking me up several times a night. I started taking Calcium about a month ago, and haven't been woken up by them since.
Now if they could just find a suppliment to make me have to go pee in the middle of the night less...

Yes! I am soooooooo anxious to have my 20 week. Although I am a "high risk" pregnancy due to having Lupus.......along with the sticky blood....(am taking an asprin a day) my doctor gives me an ultrasound each visit..........so you can imagine my little book of ultrasounds........from 8 weeks on.
I am so excited.......and although my body is changing very rapidly......and Im very uncomfortable, (I CAN IMAGINE HOW UNCOMFORTABLE I WILL BE AT 9 MONTHS!!)
I am still anticipating the big day which will not be until the middle of July.
I had that problem too.Leg cramps.I found a body pillow worked under my legs. And also a warm bath soothed my body.Another suggestion also too is your back is prpbably getting sore too.So my suggestion is to get on all fours{doggy style}SORRY and rotate your hips and legs and also dip up and down while rotating. It helps with the fullness all around. It's like when your in labor and are to do that.OR on the side of your bed or couch put your hands on bed and legs down and rotate your legs and tummy.Trust me it feels better and feels like excersise.Let me know if it works!
