One quick question. My husband and I have just decided to stop really trying so hard and just let nature take its course. I just started tanning at a salon and I was wondering if I become pregnant will it hurt the baby? I only pay month to month so as soon as I found out I would stop going, but would it be to late, would damage already be done? It shouldn't cause any problems, right. As long as it's only the first month it should be fine. Some advice please.
If you are going to tan, drink a lot of water before hand and alot of water right after. If you are really worried about it, keep your belly covered w/a damp washcloth. Some docs say it's ok to go tanning pg, if you follow these requirements. If you are REALLY worried, don't go tanning. Buy a self-tanner.

I have heard that tanning while pregnant is dangerous. Tanning beds essentially "cook" you- so try to get natural sun instead of the beds. If you do choose to go tanning, I'd use a sunscreen to avoid "the mask of pregnancy".
I did get some sun and tanned last summer while preg. Drink lots of water and do not get overheated. I love my tanning bed visit when I am not preg. but while preg. there is too much of a risk to the baby. And you usually don't find out you are preg. for many weeks. I love my tan skin so I use the tan in a bottle. If you get the more expensive foaming kind it looks just like the real thing. And it is safer than the tanning bed.

Oh one more thing..the little sun I got caused me to get dark spots on my skin that have finally gone away..my son is almost 7 months. And I have heard that some women get spots on their face. I have never done this before and my doc said it was b/c I was preg.
