**I'M PREGNANT for sure this time!!! What can I expect at the ob/gyns office??
I was doubting this day would ever come, but the results are in, my level was about +3,000. I have an appointment with an Ob/gyn tuesday, New Years Day to make sure everything is ok, and to find out if it's in my tubes or not, which I really really hope it isn't. Does anyone know the normal levels of pregnancy are? ANd what can I expect at the ob/gyn's office? never been to one before.

Hi There,
You can expect to recieve a pelvic exam were the dr will do a pap smear and pelvic exam to check the size of the fetus. The dr will take a complete physical and history from you ie: any diseases that run in your family and such. You need to provide a urine sample each time that you do go to the dr's office as the urine is tested for Protein and glucose. If either is anything above a trace, combined with other factors such as your blood pressure goes up, and/or any other signs and symptoms of a urinary tract infection, the dr may want to run some tests. But this is totally normal procedure in regards to your visits.
There's not too much except for that as well as any ?'s or concerns that you have. If you have any more ?'s, please don't hesistate to ask.

I didn't think that it was healty to do a pelvic exam on a pregnant woman, especially a pap smear, but hey I guess that you have to do it sometime. Do you think that he will be able to tell if it's in the tubes or not?My level was about +3000 on Friday so I'm guessing I'm about 3-4 weeks.

I was also surprised they did a pelvic exam.
They will not do another till later on.
The doctor may also draw blood.
I think an ultrasound would tell if its in the tubes.
The book What to Expect While you Are Expecting is a great book, tell you what Dr. will do each month you visit.
