I was just wondering if you guys could help me in what the Do's and Don'ts of pregnancy are? I know like no caffiene, no hot tubs/heating pads etc. I drink a lot of natural juice with stuff like Ginsing in them, is that ok? Because if I am pregnant I want to make sure that I do everything perfect. I have a kitty, is changing the cat litter bad for your baby? What about cleaning supplies and stuff like that? Sorry it sounds dumb, but I don't really know what to do yet, help?
You should really go over these things with your Doctor, especially the Ginseng. The book What to Expect when you are expecting is an excellent book.. tell you about foods, what to do etc.
The cat litter depends on your cat. You see if your cat is an indoor cat(never steps outside) then you changing it isnt going tob e a problem. But if your cat is an indoor/outdoor cat then you need to get hubby to change the cat litter in the box.
Both of my cats are indoor and I have been pregnant twice and changed litter boxes numerous times. Both of my doctors had no problem as long as my cats were solely indoor.
The book that was mentioned is truly wonderful. And having a doctor you can talk to is another good thing.
Another idea on the cat litter thing is to invest in a Litter Maid, automatic litter box. I am not pregnant but it would have been a blessing when I was. There's really no fuss about it, I absolutely love it. It does all the scooping for you, once a week press on the plastic bumps that hold the lid and remove the container, no stinky litter to be touched, looked at or smelled. I usually put a plastic walmart sac in the new container and use it twice, just removing the sac the first time, but you don't have to. Good Luck!
<IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/idea.gif">Something that helped me out alot when I was pregnant was I bought tons of disposable latex gloves and disposable cloth masks.. I wore those all of the times I was worried about touching or inhaling something that might not be good for me or the baby..My hubby wouldn't change the cat litter it his life depended on it.. LOL He has a very, very week stomach..ha ha
Take Care...
Thanks everyone, that has helped. My hubby won't change it either he always says "if you can't take care of it, get rid of it" that kitten means a lot to me and I wouldn't give it up for anything! lol If the litter were to cause a problem I'd have my mom or someone else do it, but I wouldn't ever get rid of it. lol
