July/August Moms

Hi there! Thought I would start a new thread.
Had my second appointment today! Baby's heart was hammering away at 153! My u/s is scheduled for March 13th. I was hoping to have it a little sooner, but thats fine. Everything else is going good. My little guy is sure getting strong! I just totally fell in love with him when I started feeling him move. Not that I didn't love him before, but chasing two kids around, I never really had time to focus on the pregnancy. (note that I call him "he" becuase im convinced its a boy )

How's everyone doing?

Eeyore, haven't heard from you in awhile, how are you doing? I feel a connection to you, since we are in such similar situations

Re: July/August Moms

Hi. I'm here today. I am carring this baby so low that it is kiling me. Is anyone else carring low? Or have you in the past? When I feel it kick, it feels like it is kicking me right between the legs. When I sit down I feel like I am squashing it. I am afraid if I sneeze it is going to come out. I know that sounds silly but it is just so low. I am 18 weeks today.

Re: July/August Moms

Hi Momofa4yrold,

We most likely won't find out the sex. I guess I learned with my first two pregnancies, that the birth does EVENTUALLy come and I think I can wait till than to find out for sure (but I suspect its boy #3). Untill this baby is born though, I am just assuming its a boy and if im surprised than great!

I carried both my boys pretty low, but not as low as it sounds like your experiencing. I have a friend who could barely walk up steps because her baby was so low!
[This message has been edited by coppertop (edited 02-20-2003).]

Re: July/August Moms

Hey there ladies!!

Kelly - sorry to hear your little blessing is soo low where it's causing you problems! I am not really sure but I think I am probably going to have my munchkin high and kicking my ribs! But time will tell. My upper area seems to be quite a bit bigger, but I still feel little "bumps" and butterflies all over so we'll find out probably pretty soon.

Well if I can ever get rid of this lovely congestion I will be soooo happy!! I really don't want to have this and then the baby in my ribs and not be able to breathe! ugh!!

Oh well other than the congestion and still somewhat tired I haven't had it too bad. Only minor ligament pain from time to time so far.

I pray all you ladies are doing well!!!

God Bless,
Angel

Re: July/August Moms

Hi everyone, thanks for the advice and sweet words from Miranda, momma, lovelyme and Angelhansen...
Hope you are all well today. Val is feeling a bit better but has a virus and some asthma. We have been going to 3 different doctors and their objective with giving her these variety of meds is to keep her out of the hospital. WE have stopped some of the other meds for now to see if she improves though. With both of her previous pregnancies she had to stop wearing her contacts cuz I guess your blood vessels and eye size can change during pregnancy. In 2000, she had that lasik surgery to correct her nearsightedness and an astigmatism. Since then she has had great vision and we're hoping it downs't change permanently with this pg. Unlike with her girls, she is carrying low and all out in front. With Maranda and Rebecca she gained weight all over and her face broke out pretty badly also. this does not seem to be the case this time. She is hoping to fold and hang some laundry today if she feels good enough and even make dinner. She has been craving chicken fajitas. I alomst had to go out the other night but we didn't have any money, so i couldn't. i said "how about if I make some for you?" she said "we don't have the fixings." i said "how about I just make chicken for you ?" she said "that's sweet of you, but I need fajitas from a restaurant, don't worry chris, i'll just die thats all". Of course she was only kidding, she is pretty funny even when she's sick. She told my buddy Sal (a guy she dated in high school) that his girl scout cookies were in and it would be $14. So he told her, can I pay you with 1400 pennies ? she said, sure if you'd like your cookies in crumbs. We were dying laughing. Needless to say he brought bills...Only 6 days and one hour until our big U/S. woohoo ! we're going to need some help with names also. So far, maybe Julia Christine for a girl and something Christopher for a boy. Any suggestions for more boy names ? We already have 3 stephens in my family and we won't be using any male names from her ex's family either. I guess if it's a girl, the name will probably end with an "A" to go along with Maranda and Rebecca, so maybe even Christina ? we'll see, having two Chris' in the house would be quite confusing. Have a great day ! Warms fuzzies to you all !

Re: July/August Moms

Hey guys! It's nice to hear you're all doing fairly well. Guess what? I think my little one has flipped around over the past couple days. Yesterday, I didn't feel him/her move at all, and got a little worried. Last night as I laid down, I began to feel a tingily sensation in my low low back, and thought it was digestion related. All the sudden this wierd, slightly painful sensation shoots all the way down into my tailbone and was over. Then it happened again. I still didn't realize it was the baby til I began to feel the butterflies, but towards the back instead of the front.
My mom said she carried me that way the whole time she was pregnant, and that she had terrible back labor and a bruised tailbone from me.... let's hope the little one turns back around.

Re: July/August Moms

Hey Chris thanks for the update again! Wow Val is quite the trooper!!!! That is sooo cool that she is able to keep her sense of humor even though she is sick. I love that story about the cookies and her response!!

I think Julia Christine is a great name for a girl! If you want to name your son Christopher I think James sounds good - Christopher James then you can nickname CJ! Names are sooo much fun aren't they! Well we've had ours picked out since shortly after we got married in '99! Curtis Daniel & Noelle Marie

Are you just a bit excited for the u/s?!!! I don't blame you at all. I have no idea when I will actually get mine since I had to delay my doc appt because they changed the original time and so I had to postpone a week so my dh can be there.

You are sooo very good to Val!!!! It is such an awesome blessing that Val has you for all these trials and trying times!!! I can't wait to hear about the u/s!!!!! I pray Val can start feeling better soon!!!! It really would be nice if she can enjoy this some too!! Tell her hi from all of us!!!

God Bless,
Angel

Re: July/August Moms

hello there to all my preggy friends!

yesterday the coolest thing happened, i was sitting on my chair and otto relaxing and watching tv and i started feeling a whole lotta bumps and movement. some of the movement even went across areas of my belly. i lifted my shirt to look at my stomach and i could actually see the bumps! it was so cool, dh got to see the movements too. i knew that it happened i just didn't think it would this soon. i swear i fall more and more in love with this baby everyday.

i need input on these two names for our little "soccer player".......if its a girl Emily Reese and if its a boy Aidan Dallas(the Dallas is a story on dh's part)

Re: July/August Moms

YEAH YEAH YEAH CHRIS!!!!!!! Go with Julia!!!!! That is my 3 1/2 year old's name. We call her Jules and Julebug for short. And of coarse she gets the occasional Julia Gulia from The Wedding Singer. Her whole name is Julia Michelle. So often we call her by both names and it makes people think she goes by that normaly. Christopher is great being that that is your name I assume. Christopher Riley is cute. I have a buddy named Christopher with Scott for his middle name. Hey coppertop I get my u/s same day as you!!! Mine is at 9am so how about yours? I did not find out with my first baby, the sex that is, and I am SOOOOOOOOOO glad I got to know what that surprise was like justonce in my life! My patience paid off!
I am really liking the name Emma Marie or Isabella Marie. Abigail is pretty. I like Adam Joseph for a boy, which will end up in an argument. No Jr. for me thanks!

Re: July/August Moms

Hi Marie,
My u/s is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Im excited to see the baby, but since we are not finding out the sex its not quite the same excitment as it was with our second. We didn't find out with our first either. My official due date is July 27th, but I think its really August 3rd, right after you!

Re: July/August Moms

Coppertop: at my last dr's appt one of the twins was like 153 or 154 also.

Kelly: Sorry your carrying so low, that has got to be just awful. The twins seem to be really low I am just like 15 1/2 wks, but everytime they check for the heartbeats it seems like they are just above my hairline.

Angel: I hate that your still conjested. I am just stopped up all night, but during the day I seem to be fine.

this diabetes thing isn't so bad until I get my craving for a yellow cake w/ chocolate icing!!!!!

Re: July/August Moms

Coppertop: We are going to find out. He said he will do a u/s around 20 wks so just like 4 more to go. If we were only having 1 I might consider not finding out, but with 2 definatly.

I am off on vacation today, and of course I couldn't sleep in. so now I am up doing housework. Atleast it will be done for the weekend.

Have a GREAT DAY!!!!
