Well, we had a rollercoaster ride at our first doctor appointment this morning. Went in, took a urine test, waited for the doctor.... she came in and told me "well our test is negative but since you had a few possitives at home we want to take a blood test" So they did and that came back positive!!! It was nerve racking.. we had to wait almost an hour for the results of the blood test and I was on the verge of tears... I thought for sure I must have MC somehow between lastnight and this morning. Thank God it all worked out though!! Anyway I am 6 weeks along and due on October 5th. We told my parents today, my sis has had two girls and I have four sisters. So the first thing my parents asked was... 'so are you going to have boys then?' LOL, I acctually want a boy, but will take anything I get!

hi there! congrats and I know exactly how you feel. I had gotten several positives at home before I went to my first doctor's apt. When I took the urine test there, the nurse told me it was negative and I may have
had a super early miscarriage where the pregnancy just didn't implant and my body reabsorbed it. As she was telling me to expect my period in a few days, I was nearly on the verge of hysterics, (because even though ours was an "oopsy" (lol) it was certainly not unwanted) she happened to glance at the test again and said "wait a minute!" There was the faintest line. I'm sure you can imagine the relief I felt!!! Everything has been wonderful and I love being pregnant. So, congratulations again and enjoy it!

Siren - I know exactly what you mean too because they took forever telling me my results since she had to show a doc before letting me know because it was soooo faint!

Yes this is our first! I am so excited... when can they tell you if its a boy or girl? We go back in on 3/27 for an apt. Will be 12 weeks then. What do they do then. She just told me testing and we'd get to hear the HB. What else do they do... and what tests?

Im glad they did a blood test too. thats weird it didnt even show up for them huh?!
I think at 12 weeks they did the heartbeat and thats all I can rember. since it was your first apt. they might take some blood .they might be able to tell what you are having around 16 weeks whenever they decide to do a s/g.
