I have been getting headaches off & on for a few weeks now (I'm 15 weeks along)and yesterday had one all day. During the night, each time I lifted my head for a drink of water or to turn over my head was throbbing. Got up arounf 6:30 with my 5 yr old to go potty and returned to bed in tears. DH had to get the oldest off to school as I couldn't even lift my head from the pillow. Tylenol helped but I still feel it there threatening to return. Caled the Dr. this a.m. the nurse said it is caused by hormonal changes and called in a srcip for tylenol w/codine. They said it's safe to take in pregnancy but I wish I didn';t have to take it. Anyone experience this before. Any home remedies? please respond. Thanks!
Yes! I have bad headaches when I'm pregnant. But only rarely. I am only 5 1/2 weeks, but I had a bad one the other night. I think it might have to do with caffeine withdrawl in that particular instance. But I had them the last time I was pregnant and I think it does have to do with hormone levels. In fact, I think I read once that some women experience migranes for the first time during pregnancy. I'm sorry for you, and I know how you feel. I pray I don't get them this time around. I used to get them right above my right eye. They were awful!
I get wicked headaches frequently while pregnant. I also get migraines while pregnant, but not as often. Thank goodness for that. One more joy of impending motherhood.
Interesting..my fiance has been having frequent headaches..off and on , but presistent..some bad, some mild...she is about 7 weeks... they've been going on since about week 5 I'm guessing.
I had them for a while, because I used to drink pop almost every day. I switched to drinking all natural drinks called SOBE, there is about 20 different drinks and 99.9% of them are really good! They are loaded with herbs that entergize the body, without caffiene. They have so many flavors, pina colada, strawberry bananna, orange cremsickle, banana the list goes on and on. The drinks helped me a lot to deal with the loss of caffiene, and I lost weight with them, about 10lbs and 2 pant sizes.

You can find them in Rite aid, or most gas stations, Mobil has a variety of them. Where at in Michigan are you?

Thanks for the responses. It's nice toknow I'm not alone. I am happy to report that the Tylenol w/codine got rid of the headache with one dose and I have felt fine since friday. Hopefully this is over now.
Headaches are so common during pregnancy. Yay <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif"> The tylenol 3 does help a lot, especially w/the jabbing pain behind the eyes.
Angelique, be careful w/the SOBE, some of those herbs can be harmful during pg.Ask your ob
