Here are some Iron foods to get her iron count up:
Very good in Iron:
Beef, pork
beef or chicken liver
cooked beans(pinto, garbanzo,lima, liack,lentils)
beans cooked with low-fat meat
cooked oysters
some cereals are good in iron
other stuff that is good:
chickend,m turkey
fish, canned tuna,shrimp, clams
tofu
corn or flour tortillas,
rice, pasta
leafy greans, not the iceburg lettuce
prune juice, dried fruit
peas
more tips:
add a little bit of meat to other foods
cook foods in cast iron- skillets,pots or pans, heavy, black ones
Also try to drink a glass of Oj with meals, it helps the body use iron
Milk Products are low in iron!!
